A Perfect Read

I sobbed and smiled and felt way more than expected. From heartbreak and grief to healing, from tears to romance to forever, this book has everything. It is the wholesome, break-my-heart-and-stitch-it-back-together read I didn't even know I needed until I finished it.

Alongside Florence, it taught me to believe in love again. It also helped me push through my own writer's block.

This book made me feel good, but more than that, it made me feel. I expected a light read. Instead I got a perfect read. Read this book.

Unexpectedly Fantastic!

This audiobook was amazing! It's clever and brilliant. It made me laugh and cry and care about the characters. And the narration was just fantastic! Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite books, but Lydia was never a character I liked. Now, though, she might be my favorite. I'm so glad I found this audiobook and gave it a chance.

Moving and Transformative

Powerful. I had to start and stop a number of times due to the intensity of emotions it brought up. I feel like I understand both forgiveness and myself better for reading this, and despite the heavy content, have more hope in the world and people around me.

Approachable and Nonjudgmental Language Learning

Made me love German and feel comfortable with learning foreign languages again. Very approachable and has you speaking sentences almost immediately, but in a way that isn't overwhelming. No need for a complex grasp of grammatical terms, either.

Quoteable, Useful, and Ethical

Thoughtful and beautifully written, and hearing it in the author's voice made it all the more meaningful. A book I will return to again and again, and recommend to others.

I really appreciate that each lesson was framed in the form of a story. It made the meaning more personal and easy to absorb, and outlined why it was important in everyday life.

Some quotes that stood out to me in my first listen-through were:

Voice compliments the character delightfully

This is the first book in one of my favorite series by one of my favorite authors, and the narration gave me new insight into Jade. I really loved hearing Meghan's vision of Jade instead of just reading it, and I look forward to listening to the other audiobooks. Hopefully Rochelle's intertwining story will be translated to audiobook soon as well!
