Historia
The acclaimed author of American Dirt reveals the devastating effects of a shocking tragedy in this landmark true-crime work - the first ever to look intimately at the experiences of both the victims and their families. A Rip in Heaven is Jeanine Cummins’ story of a night in April, 1991, when her two cousins Julie and Robin Kerry, and her brother, Tom, were assaulted on the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge, which spans the Mississippi River just outside of St. Louis.

A Tragedy
Revisado: 08-29-24
A heart wrenching story of 2 young girls who lost their lives at the hands of 4 vicious young men. It’s a good read but a very hard read at times. To think that these things can happen, and continue to happen, reiterates the need for stronger mental health implementation and perhaps, to have difficult conversations with our children about awareness of others. It’s a tough position to be in as a parent wanting to protect your children but not terrify them and others the truths of what evil lies within some people. My heart breaks for the victims and their families…so many loves affected by 4 troubled and vicious boys.

Movie material

So wonderfully written! This would make an incredible movie! Only minor negative for me was the ending only because it didn’t leave me feeling resolved. Part 2??

A wonderful story about relationships and love
Revisado: 03-12-23
My favorite Colleen Hoover novel so far! I have a few more to go but this was one that will stick with me. A wonderful story about love and life. The characters come to life and you experiences their pain, love and passion right along with them. I painted a picture of these characters in my head but how amazing would it be to see this made into a movie. I’d definitely go to the theatre to see it!

If you had even a little bit of faith in pharmaceutical companies…
Revisado: 02-05-23
If you had even a little bit of faith in pharmaceutical companies, you won’t after reading this.
Greed has caused millions of lives to be fire we changed. My sister was a victim of this greed and corruption. It’s not just the Sackler family that’s responsible. Our government has failed us because of their greed as well. What happed to ethics? Why can’t people just be good and do good? To me it doesn’t seem that difficult!

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Full of emotion
Revisado: 10-28-22
I have to admit, this books was hard to read, especially in times like these when there is war going on in our world. The story feels so real. The author truly brings the characters to life and draws out all of your emotions. You feel what they feel…the hurt, the anger, the fright and the love.
One of the most beautifully written books I’ve read. I cried.

Great character building
Revisado: 09-28-22
This book started out slow for me but after about half way through it really caught my attention. I quickly discovered why it started off slow, or was building the characters and developing a love, and hate, for some of them. Because of this, there were so many real emotions felt as I continued reading. I enjoyed this book so much that I wanted more! I wanted to read further and hear even more if their stories! Highly recommend!
