Vital read to understand the current landscape
Revisado: 02-11-25
Highly informative in how AI ties the strategic level all the way through to most granular level. Those just beginning or long time government tech integration professionals will walk away with a technical comprehension on what algorithms are available, when to use them, and how AI can equip senior leadership with the capabilities they need to maintain superior national security. Highly recommend and will require this reading for decades to come!

Historia
You may be surprised to learn that microchips are the new oil—the scarce resource on which the modern world depends. Today, military, economic, and geopolitical power are built on a foundation of computer chips. Virtually everything—from missiles to microwaves—runs on chips, including cars, smartphones, the stock market, even the electric grid. Until recently, America designed and built the fastest chips and maintained its lead as the #1 superpower, but America’s edge is in danger of slipping, undermined by players in Taiwan, Korea, and Europe taking over manufacturing.

Exceptionally Important Read For Today’s Great Power Competition
Revisado: 01-22-23
This is a seminal work articulating very clearly the heart of the current great power competition. If you want to know what worries senior leaders and industry captains, you want to make this the highest priority read on your list. Great overview of tech development and competition, as well as why tech is the foremost component of the balance of power in the world right now.

Truly Crucial Considerations For Our Current Digital Grey War
Revisado: 01-13-22
I won’t spend much time on this but suffice it to say that this is among the most succinct and direct diagnostic and set of plausible solutions in the digital conflict we’re engaged in. Excellent book with great references, sources, and philosophies that capture current challenges at a juncture in the global order’s history that will determine whether we can maintain our fundamental values.
Some of the dilatory anecdotes could have had more relevance, but the road map laid out is invaluable for maintaining and progressing toward the rights we hold so dear!

Historia
When we think about the future of war, the military and Washington and most everyone gets it backwards. We think in terms of buying single military systems, such as fighter jets or aircraft carriers. And when we think about modernizing those systems, we think about buying better versions of the same things. But what really matters is not the single system but "the battle network"—the collection of sensors and shooters that enables a military to find an enemy system, target it, and attack it.

Very Necessary Message Especially with China’s Current Momentum
Revisado: 06-26-20
The author clearly articulated or of the foundational threats to the US’s leadership posture in an accessible, manageable way. Succinctly, he lays out the political and bureaucratic machine showing where the broken parts are and then gives instructions on how to fix them.
My favorite part was in chapter twelve where he says “The future will win only when political leaders become convinced that the present will loose.” His years of experience and expertise shine brightly throughout the whole book.
