I downloaded this book to keep me company during a business day roadtrip. The book did it's job: kept me entertained the whole time. I even got home and kept listening while cooking and cleaning around. Then it was time for bed, but instead I sat in the couch folding laundry so I could finish the book. So yes, this book is a "page turner", enjoyable and good enough that I wouldn't discourage anyone to read it. But it's definitely not a "Gone Girl" or "The Girl on the Train" because overall, the story has so many so many holes, especially at the end, that I wasn't completely sold.

Great psychological thriller with amazing narration. People seem to feel that the actual book was slow at the beginning, but I did not have that issue. I guess the narrator does such a good job setting the mood that from the beginning I felt engaged, which helped build the intensity of the plot even more for me. Superb listening.

I am a big fan of Stephen King's classics, but it has been years since I like one of his newer books. Well, this book was worth the wait! Great, solid story with a wonderful narration. Will Patton does an amazing job setting the mood of this dark, "sin-city" kind of book and keeps you glue to your listening device from beginning to end.

I like how twisted and dark this book was, and the story was solid but I feel that it unraveled a little too in the predictable side... Worth to listen though.

I finished listening to Mr Mercedes and I loved the narration so much, that I decided to give this book a try, just because of Will Patton. As a big fan of Stephen's classics, I was afraid that this sequel wouldn't lived to greatness of the Shinning, but I was pleasantly surprised. The overall book doesn't inspire the same terror of the Shining, but I think Stephen King did a good job setting a different tone for this book, so you are not constantly comparing the two of them. Instead, you can move on to a brand new history built from it. Will Patton is an amazing narrator and I truly enjoyed this book from beginning to end. If you have to chose just one Stephen King book, go with Mr Mercedes. If you can have two, this book is worth it as well.

The plot and the characters where well thought and strong enough to keep me interested to the end of the book, but it seems that every other paragraph contained a cheesy joke. After a while that became annoying as all of the characters expressed themselves in that cheap humor.

I bought this book on an Audible sale and that should've been my first clue. I wanted a lighthearted summer read, and this one had good reviews so I decided to give it a try. If you are not expecting a literature masterpiece, you would probably enjoy the book. It is well written, and although some of the situations are very forced (like how Emma found out about the existence of her twin sister), overall the plot is interesting and addictive, in a guilty pleasure king of way. I happily bought the second book, but at the end of that one, the killer wasn't even near to be revealed, and that really annoyed me. So here I am, going through the 3rd book only to find out that there are a total of SIX BOOKS! If this was only one fat book, I would probably would have given it 4 stars, as it did keep me guessing and entertained. As a trilogy I would've given it 3 starts. But 6 books??? I don't think I can stomach that, so I am just going to google who the killer is and be done with it.

Described by many reviewers as the best dog book ever, I started this book ready to be moved, fall in love, shed some tears and hopefully all of the above... Unfortunately the story was too simple to have any depth and didn't inspire me any emotions (except boredom?). After listening several chapter waiting for improvement I gave up. One of my first listening books was Oogy the Dog, and that was such a beautiful and powerful story, I could not wait to finish the book to pass it around to my friends and family... I can't say that I will be recommending A Dog's Purpose to anybody any time soon...

The author does a wonderful job transporting you into the early 1900's. It's not just how solid the characters are, but every detail of how live was at that time, plus real historical context of the events that were occurring then. I wish all history lessons came in this format! I also loved the narration. I am a big fan of theatrical narrators like Eduardo Ballerini, so I wasn't sure I was going to love this one when I started the book. But I was pleasantly surprise to find that the even tone and small fluctuation between characters added to the somberness of the story.

If it wasn't for the great narrator performance I wouldn't finished the book. The premise of a teenager writing letters to a stranger didn't convince me, and although I enjoyed some of the passages, overall I didn't think the plot was strong enough.
