Historia
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned...especially a dead one holding a grudge. Back on Deadwood's list of usual suspects, Violet Parker is hip deep in wild frights and fired-up females. After juggling bitter threats, haunted buildings, and vengeful ghosts, the last thing she needs is a pair of bullheaded detectives trying to pin another murder on her tail. Can Violet find the real killer before she ends up behind bars? Or worse, on a slab at the morgue.

Free but, still not worth it.
Revisado: 05-11-21
Cons:
Outdated pop culture references. I'm very close in age to the main character. Her references are more relevant for our parents' generation.
Violet thinks she should have the same info as the cops
Violet is very whiny and full of one liners but,, no real substance. She also freaks out easily and thinks everyone wants to date her.
MC is a horrible friend
I think Violet probably has a lot of participation trophies
The supernatural story has no focus. Even though we are multiple books in to the series.
Would care to hear more about the side characters and less of Violet.
I can't continue a series where I keep hoping the MC doesn't make it through to the end.
Pros:
The narrator

Historia
Mystic Caravan Circus is heading for the Midwest...and their first stop is Michigan. Hemlock Cove, to be exact. Poet Parker is looking forward to what she believes will be a quiet time. Hemlock Cove isn’t big, after all, and Mystic Caravan is essentially serving as the centerpiece for a paranormal festival in a town where everyone pretends to be witches. There’s just one problem...real witches are afoot, and they’re unbelievably powerful.

Narration ruined the story
Revisado: 10-21-20
the narrator does not know how to pronounce many words. She also makes Bay and Landon sound really dumb, she makes them speak really slowly. It's almost as if they are stoned.
I loved the fun that Tillie and Nellie had. I liked seeing the Winchesters and their home thru the eyes of the Mystic Caravan. I probably should have read this book instead of listened to it.

Another great story but, too short for a credit
Revisado: 10-01-20
First of all, sometimes the narrator sounds like Keanu Reeves (in a good way). This added to my enjoyment b/c even though Keanu Reeves is older than what Ace looks like - I still pictured Ace as Keanu.
I read the first book. It always makes me nervous to listen to a series I started reading but, this narrator did a great job. He was exceptional with Ace and Osiris. He did a good job with the female characters too and that is where many male narrators struggle.
It was another great story, original and kept my attention. Character development occurred especially for Ace and Shu. Can't wait for the third book.
HOWEVER, this is less than 5 hours long. This was way too short for a credit. I will continue to read the series but, save my credits for longer books or wait for a sale.

They are the Brotherhood of the Wheel. At home in Lenoir, North Carolina, Jimmie and his squire Heck find themselves drawn into an all-out war between two competing biker gangs. One is led by a rival biker in possession of new found supernatural allies, and the other is an all-female werewolf pack.

Almost listened to it again right away
Revisado: 02-14-19
This is the first book I ever almost started over as soon as I finished it. I know one complaint is that there is so much going on. There is a lot going on, lots of characters, lots of stories but, it worked for me. I always felt like I needed a white board when reading Game of Thrones, this book did not have that many characters/stories. It also still blows my mind that this is Bronson Pinchot narrating. He does an amazing job. I like the Brotherhood of the Wheel better than the Nightwise series but, I really like the Nightwise series.

Three went in; one came out. For five years, no trace has been found of two high-school friends who went hiking in the woods near Nashville. The third teen, Amber Ryder, was discovered at the bottom of a ravine with a broken arm, head trauma - and zero memory of the horror that put her there.

Disappointing
Revisado: 01-04-19
I was very excited to hear Georgia's story and so disappointed when I listened to it. The narrator has a good voice but, maybe just not for this book. She adopted a baby voice when Georgia spoke and it just didn't seem to mesh with the character. I get that she is kind of brat as the baby of the Morgan siblings but, the voice made it seem like she was a four year old. It was very hard to get through. It may have influenced how I felt about the book also. I feel like out of the Morgans only one of the brothers didn't come off like a jerk in the series and in this book they all seemed like big, arrogant jerks. The ending seemed rushed and the romance didn't flow very well. Honestly the whole book seemed rushed.I enjoy most of Mary Burton's books. They are typically a good "read" while working.

Historia
A young woman lies dead at the bottom of a waterfall, dressed in a wedding gown with a rose stem jammed down her throat. And in the small town of Graveyard Falls, the horrifying vision stirs a long-ago nightmare back to life.... FBI Special Agent Cal Coulter gets called in to investigate the murder, which bears a terrifying resemblance to a series of killings committed thirty years ago: three teenage girls were found dead at the waterfall's base, all bearing rose stems in their throats.

A bit much
Revisado: 05-03-18
The narration - the narrator had a great voice but, he didn't seem right for this book. He sounds like he would be perfect for tv and radio but, somehow his voice reminded me of when "books on tape" came out waaay back in the day.
The store - the story was fine. There was a lot at the end, too much. Too much drama for each and every character. I also got sick of the word "mama".
I will try the author again but, it's a bit soapy. It is better than the last soap I watched but, still too many suds.
