Historia
Perhaps no conflict in American history is more important yet more overlooked and misunderstood than the War of 1812. At the climax of the war, inspired by the defeat of Napoleon in early 1814 and the perceived illegality of the Louisiana Purchase, the British devised a plan to launch a three-pronged attack against the Northern, Eastern, and Southern US borders.

A thorough defense of the 1812 war
Revisado: 05-13-16
The 1812 war has been described as a useless conflict with no distinct victor. This well researched book show the error of this conclusion and points to the impact of victory to the United States and in particular the territory of the Louisiana purchase. The reading is somewhat monotone but acceptable for non fiction.

How to mess up a James Lee Burke novel
Revisado: 03-31-16
I have read and listened to everything Burke wrote and believe he is a national treasure. Will Patton is a fantastic reader. The editor for this should be fired. It was a mess. If I wanted a musical recording I would have bought one. If it wasn't a Burke novel I would give it zero stars.

Historia
Texas attorney and former Texas Ranger Billy Bob Holland has many secrets. Among them is Vernon Smother's son, Lucas, a now-teenaged boy about whom few know the truth: Lucas is really Billy Bob's illegitimate son. When Lucas is arrested for murder, Billy Bob must confront the past and serve as the boy's criminal attorney. As a result, he incurs enemies that are far more dangerous than any he faced as a Texas Ranger.

Burke & Patton do it again
Revisado: 07-13-15
James Burke is an exceptional writer and story teller. Will Patton is an audio theater and together they are fantastic. The story line in this lagged a little but it was still a great listen. I think this is my 15th Burke book. I am addicted.

Historia
The Shift is a call to become more conscious, to move from aimless ambition to meaning and purpose. Making this Shift is a necessity in order to live a peaceful, fulfilling life aligned with your divine calling. In this deeply engaging live seminar, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer explains that instead of heeding the demands of the ego, which keep you mired in self-sabotage through never-ending pleas and false promises, you can choose to move in a new direction.

Another good Dyer performance
Revisado: 05-14-13
I am a Wayne Dyer fan and while a lot of this was repeated material, his new thought on the “shift” were refreshing. Listened to it twice on my commute and will probably do it one more time.

Fun and Erotic Story
Revisado: 05-14-13
I read book 1 and now listened to Book 2 and found both to be fun adventures about a very sex oriented couple. It is not a strong story plot but more of a reporting on the activities of Linda and Jason. They are a couple who find great compatibility in the area of open marriage. Linda is definitely a free spirit and I found her to be softer and more gentle in book 2 than book 1. She knows how to get into trouble and loves every minute. As in book 1, this is not a audiobook for the prudish or faint at heart,, but for the rest of us it is a great listen. Anne Johnstonbrown, the narrator, did a good job of capturing the characters, especially the antics of Linda and her husband Jason. Wonder where book 3 will go?

Interesting- but not fantastic
Revisado: 04-17-13
After all the hype about the book, I guess I expected a real blockbuster. Not so much. The repetition of email addresses about drove me crazy. Interesting story, but nothing I would get overly excited about in a review. Maybe the BDSM is a secret national fetish.

Historia
James M. McPherson, professor emeritus of U.S. history at Princeton, is one of the foremost scholars of the Civil War. In this informative and meticulously researched masterpiece, he clarifies the differing ways of life and philosophy that led to this shattering conflict. Abraham Lincoln wondered whether "in a free government the minority have the right to break up the government". And Jefferson Davis felt "forced to take up arms" to guarantee states' rights.

Historia
In this live lecture, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer explores intention as an all-pervading force in the universe that allows the act of creation to take place. Intention, he explains, is not something you do, but an energy you're a part of. Not only do you emanate from the field of intention, but if you align yourself to it, your desires become fulfilled and you find yourself at peace.

A review of the book
Revisado: 04-17-13
I am a Dyer fan and was looking for something to take on vacation. The book is one of my favorite and I thought this might be something a little deeper. While it was well presented and contained some new information, it was basically a sound tape about the book. I liked it and it refreshed me even if it was a review. If you read the book, no real need to get this unless you are like me and love Dyer.
