Natasha Becker has been there, done that and written a book about it! all to try to help other parents who instinctively do not want to parent their children harshly because it feels wrong to yell at them about them yelling at you or each other. I have not finished the book yet but it is living up to expectations so far and I would happily recommend it to other parents who feel that traditional parenting does not work for them. However, this is not a quick trick book it takes time and commitment to change yours and your family's perspectives and dynamics.

I learned new techniques that I am already utilizing. Emotion surfing, and ignoring the monkey in my brain who only wants what it wants NOW, are 2 ideas that are described so well, and so simply, that I can see them having a huge impact on my life. Just picturing the monkey clanging cymbals in my mind takes a lot of the power away from my avoidance tendencies. Great book!
