Historia
In poyums, Len Pennie has created a collection that is as approachable as it is affecting; whether she's writing letters to her younger self, advocating for women's rights or adapting fairy tales to process an abusive relationship, Len's voice is bold, unashamedly frank and unmistakeably hers. She consciously fuses Scots into her poetry, cleverly ensuring that it is accessible to speakers of both languages.

Historia
What do you do when you spot a wild Trump in the election season? New York Times best-selling author and comedian Michael Ian Black has some sage advice for children (and all the rest of us who are scratching our heads in disbelief) in this perfectly timely parody book intended for adults that would be hysterical if it wasn't so true.

A laugh just when we needed one!

This was just the comic relief I needed after four years of “He who must not be named”. If ya don’t find the humor, you are waaaay too serious.
Thanks so much. I really needed this! 😂

Historia
Ayla, one of the most remarkable and beloved heroines in contemporary fiction, continues to explore the world and the people around her with curiosity, insight, and, above all, courage. As the story opens, Ayla, Jondalar, and their infant daughter, Jonayla, are living with the Zelandonii in the Ninth Cave - a shelter of stone. Ayla has been chosen as an acolyte and has embarked on the arduous task of training to become a spiritual leader.

The Land Of Painted Caves
Revisado: 09-10-12
Where does The Land of Painted Caves rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
While the performance was outstanding, sadly, the story was not up to par with the other books in the Earth's Children series
Has The Land of Painted Caves turned you off from other books in this genre?
No
Have you listened to any of Sandra Burr’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
The performance was outstanding
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
"To much time spent in caves" or "Did the Author Forget who Ayla & Jondolar Are?"
Any additional comments?
Auel went from one of my favorite authors to bottom of the ladder. The time to complete the series was unexceptable, but the final book put the nail in the coffin of an otherwise "potentially" awesome series.
The first two books, Clan of the Cave Bear and The Vally of Horses" were outstanding. "The Mammoth Hunters" was good. "Plain of Passage was good...then BAM! 12 years until Shelters of Stone...No Bueno...!!! It was a good book, but frankly, none compared with the first two. Then to end with the fiasco of "The Land of Painted Caves"....all I can say is I will re-read the best loved ones in the series and try to forget the final book altogether.
I know I am a bit harse, but when you look forward to and expect a certain level from a certain author, and you are totally let down in what should be the big finale (what should have been the best of the best), it certainly leaves a bad taste.
If it were not for the fine performance of the narrator in this book, I would give it a single star.

Historia
Ayla, the independent heroine of the Earth's Children series, sets out from the valley on Whinney, the horse she tamed. With her is Jondalar, the tall, handsome, yellow-haired man she nursed back to health and came to love. Together they meet Mamutoi - the Mammoth Hunters - people like Ayla.

The books in this series are some of my favorites, and I am delighted with the audio version. The narrator has done and incredible job, bringing the characters and emotions to life. I am VERY pleased and encourage anyone with an interest in primitive cultures to get this series.
