I have read every story and watched every film related to Robert Durst and his journey and honestly was not expecting to learn anything new in this book. However, there were little nuggets of information that I knew nothing about scattered throughout. I love this narrator!! He was so easy to listen to and his cadence was incredible. I highly recommend this book!

Historia
Faith, I tell them, is a mystery, elusive to many, and never easy to explain. Sweeping and lyrical, spellbinding and unforgettable, David Ebershoff’s The 19th Wife combines epic historical fiction with a modern murder mystery to create a brilliant novel of literary suspense. It is 1875, and Ann Eliza Young has recently separated from her powerful husband, Brigham Young, prophet and leader of the Mormon Church. Expelled and an outcast, Ann Eliza embarks on a crusade to end polygamy in the United States.

This book was excellent!
Revisado: 06-11-21
I loved the narrator's cadence and tone. This topic is absolutely fascinating to me. The story was written well and kept my interest. If you have any curiosity in early Mormon history, I highly recommend reading The 19th Wife. Even if you merely have interest in women history in the US, I would recommend. great history lesson while incorporating a true story.

Like many, I was fascinated with this case. After I found out the Goldman received the rights and any profit from this book I decided to take a listen. I remember so vividly the heart wrenching pain the Goldman family displayed and if that turkey won't pay them I have no issue giving to the cause. The narrator did an excellent job and it was an easy listen.

Historia
When police raided the Short Creek compound of the Fundamental Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1953, it soon became a political and publicity nightmare and eventually cost the governor of Arizona his job. From that point on, skittish public officials allowed the polygamist sect to practice its tenants unmolested for the next 50 years and turned a blind eye to child abandonment, kidnapping, statutory rape, incest, and massive tax and welfare fraud. But then Warren Jeffs, a new FLDS prophet, escalated the sect’s crimes to near madness.

Anyone looking to move to Utah should listen
Revisado: 11-11-18
So, I moved to Utah 2 years ago and have been seriously struggling to fit in here. I am not a Mormon, it is obvious that I am not a Mormon and I get treated differently here at work and play. Listening to this book helped me understand the history of both lds and flds. It opened my eyes to the many why's I have had since moving here. Outside of the personal impact this book had for me, it also taught me more than I ever knew about flds and how they still work today. The story jumped around a little and got into some monotonous details a few times, but muscling through those very few sections was totally worth it. Great book! Highly recommend.

It starts with a simple favor—an ordinary kindness mothers do for one another. When her best friend, Emily, asks Stephanie to pick up her son Nicky after school, she happily says yes. Nicky and her son, Miles, are classmates and best friends, and the five-year-olds love being together—just like she and Emily. A widow and stay-at-home mommy blogger living in woodsy suburban Connecticut, Stephanie was lonely until she met Emily, a sophisticated PR executive whose job in Manhattan demands so much of her time.

Good book not super predictable
Revisado: 10-21-18
This was a reasonably good book to listen to. There were a few times that I needed to take break because it hit a little mundane. The characters were well written and narration was easy to listen to. Not the most thrilling book, but interesting enough to continue through. Good plot twists. Overall, enjoyed the book!

After his December 2003 arrest, registered nurse Charlie Cullen was quickly dubbed "The Angel of Death" by the media. But Cullen was no mercy killer, nor was he a simple monster. He was a favorite son, husband, beloved father, best friend, and celebrated caregiver. Implicated in the deaths of as many as 300 patients, he was also perhaps the most prolific serial killer in American history.

Enjoyed listening to this creepy book!
Revisado: 10-14-18
This book was a bit graphic at times, but the detailed writing helped understand the characters and the environment clearly. I really enjoyed listen to this book, even though it will haunt me when I go into any hospital from now on! The author was able to successfully take me on a journey with his brilliant use of language. The narrator also deserves kudos as he was easy to listen to, entertaining, brought infection when needed, and had a charming voice like one of an old friend sitting with you to discuss life. Great book! Highly recommend.
