Historia
A breakneck race against time…and an implacable enemy. An anonymous young woman murdered in a run-down hotel, all identifying characteristics dissolved by acid. A father publicly beheaded in the blistering heat of a Saudi Arabian public square. A notorious Syrian biotech expert found eyeless in a Damascus junkyard. Smoldering human remains on a remote mountainside in Afghanistan. A flawless plot to commit an appalling crime against humanity. One path links them all, and only one man can make the journey. Pilgrim.

Not the most enjoyable MHI installation
Revisado: 08-26-19
The Narrator (whom has received a great deal of negative reviews) has a wonderful preforming voice, but not the correct inflection/attitude to accurately represent Julie. She did in fact mispronounce critical names and inaccurately portray Julie's core character.
I would absolutely listen to another audio book narrated by Bailey Carr, but hope its not in an MHI novel. For this, I gave the performance 2 stars (it's OK)
The story plot was reminiscent of similar spin off plots (Earl, Franks, etc..) , good old and new villains. 3 stars here, (it was pretty good)
The writing and execution were not great. Shame really, Julie is an amazing character and deserved better for her "solo" story. I agree with other reviewers, perhaps the author should write the "main story line novels" in the MHI series and include additional authors in the spin off series. I believe the audience would appreciate that.
There was too much influence from Sarah Hoyt, I assume (I could be wrong) but it was a struggle (a big one) to hear "oh poor baby Ray, my poor baby, my baby) over and over and over and over.
Overall, I enjoyed the story, but it was difficult and a little nauseating to listen to in parts. I will of course be waiting for the next installment.

Historia
A body always tells a story - but this child’s was a blank page. Rita reached for the lantern. She trained its light on the child’s face. "Who are you?" she murmured, but the face said as little as the rest of her. It was impossible to tell whether, in life, these blunt and unfinished features had borne the imprint of prettiness, timid watchfulness, or sly mischief. If there had once been curiosity or placidity or impatience here, life had not had time to etch it into permanence. Only a very short time ago, the body and soul of this little girl had still been securely attached.

Just that, a beautiful story. Enjoy the characters, the river, the tales. Feel the subtle and overwhelming emotions throughout the novel. Thank you Diane Setterfield and Juliet Stevenson, I thoroughly enjoyed feeling this novel.

Incredible Novel
Revisado: 12-07-18
I throughly enjoyed this novel. The author offered me a new definition of happiness through his description and experiences while living in India that I had not imagined. I "felt" the characters, their fear, anxiety, joy, confusion, anger, surprise and love. Incredible mix of characters and ethnicities, storylines and storytelling.
The storyteller's "philosophy" throughout the novel is not something that bothered me,(as others have commented) rather, an insight into someone else's mind that I enjoyed. The performance by Humphrey Bower was superb! (think of Jim Dale's narrations).

Absolutely incredible
Revisado: 08-11-17
What made the experience of listening to Circle of Reign the most enjoyable?
A fantasy novel that truly evolves the genre, the pace of the novel and its characters move more swiftly than others of its kind. I found this to be an incredible blend of character and world development while introducing us to a magic system. This novel could have gone another 20 hours of listening or just as easily been split into 2 separate books with more than enough depth and story. It read like a stand alone novel, the pace rewarding you all along the way with plot changes and definitive ends. I cannot wait until the next installment from Jacob Cooper!
What does Michael Kramer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The emotional depth that Michael brings to this story is amazing. I was excited with a few new "accents" in this novel compared to past novels Michael has read.
