A New Take on Villains
Revisado: 04-23-25
I enjoyed this story of students made to be villains but with a twist that told another story. At first, I was disappointed there weren't more villains that I knew, but that was only because I wasn't patient. The authors deliver. The story is fun and has great tension. The narrators fit the character pretty well with the female narrator being better than the the male.
Over all, I enjoyed this escape from reality.

Great Books of True Crime
Revisado: 01-30-25
I really enjoyed this collection of True Crime books! I loved that each book has a theme and we learn about cases on those themes. I learned more about a few cases I knew about but learned more about poor victims I had never heard about. I am never disappointed when I read books by these authors!
I'm not big on the narrator for these books but he had more inflection in this collection than he has had in other books so- I gave him an extra star this time!

Well Written
Revisado: 01-24-25
This book was well written and went deep into the events and people. While I had heard of one or two of the killers, I really enjoyed learning about the less famous ones. This helps immortalize the victims and warns the public about these people. I would read more books.
I'm not big on the narrator. His voice is often grating. There is a serious monotonous tone that works well with the subject matter though.

What the Heck is Going on?
Revisado: 01-02-25
I listen to the first four books in this series. I mostly enjoyed them. But having not read the cross-over series I truly had no idea what was going on. It got to the point that I couldn't understand how this went back to the Broken Wand Academy. I kept listening hoping I could understand. It just kept getting more complicated. The cute addition of Dollywood, did nothing to help me. I still don't truly understand anything. This was a failure as a stand-alone cross-over.

When tragedy strikes and she becomes a Veuve (widow), she must grapple with a domineering partner, the complexities of making champagne, and the aftermath of six Napoleon wars. When she falls in love with her sales manager, Louis Bohne, she must choose between losing her winery to her husband to obey the Napoleon Code, or losing Louis.

Love the main character!
Revisado: 05-22-24
I received an audio arc from the writer; all opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed the story as well as the audio presentation of Champagne Widows. Not only was I entertained, I also learned a lot about life in the Napoleonic wars. Barbe-Nicole is a fabulous character. And I love that there was a headstrong woman in history who strived for more than men let her have. Katherine Anderson brings her to life in a voice that harkens to the time and place. It really brought the story to life.
I enjoyed this so much that I want to read Rebecca Rosenberg's other works!

An Intriqing New Series
Revisado: 02-21-24
I received an audio ARC for review; all opinions are my own.
This beginning to Eagles and Crowns is slower than many of the author's other books. But there is a reason for this. The book is more political plotting, making alliances, and less clashing of swords. I enjoyed hearing how the main character p[lotted and planned to ensure her family was not deprived of their rights. After her father's death, Carti must secure safety for herself and her mom. The concludes nicely but that doesn't mean things are wrapped up in a nice bow. And I look forward to the next part of the story.
The narration was wonderful, and the accent and tone were perfect for the character and the time. The narration really adds to the story.

Good Continuation
Revisado: 01-04-24
This continuation of The Illusion of Truth focuses on Kalib and his perception of what is going on. I really enjoyed hearing from another voice as it rounds out the series The narration was perfect sounding like I imagined the character did. This didn't seem like a long read as the story kept moving. I really enjoyed this.

Historia
They say opposites attract, but there have never been two more opposite people than Stone Schneider and me. Stone, the brawny owner of the Chancellor Brewery and Biergarten, is my definition of nemesis. His noisy pub is a constant source of irritation. Where my bookshop brings beauty and stories to the world, Stone brings a Friday-night cover band. Even though Stone has the most adorable, bookish child on the planet, that handsome tapster and I cannot find a way to get along. If Stone could stop being annoying for five seconds, I might ask him out.

Another Fun Entry in The Chancellor Fairy Tales
Revisado: 11-06-23
The Book Witch is a cute romantic tale set during Christmas. The Chancellor Fairy Tales are easy fun reads and this latest addition is no different. I enjoyed the characters and loved reading how neighbors took care of each other. The magical elements are not over down and are a perfect addition to the tale.
I enjoyed the narrator. Robin Leigh was peppy and drew you into the tale. She also did well giving each character their own voice.

Not As Good as the First
Revisado: 09-25-23
I received a free audio version of this book for review; all opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed the narrator while listening to this second entry into The Silversaar Legacy. Her cadence was much better as the narrator shed her stiltedness. As before, she did great giving each character their own voices.
I found this book a lot slower than the first. I felt like there was less action and character development than in the first entry. But there were things I did like. I really enjoyed the authors' version of dragons and the magic they possessed. I think my favorite part is when the main character goes home and makes true peace with her past.

Fun Sci-FI Saga
Revisado: 04-25-23
This is a fun and well-done story. The audiobook contains music, sound effects, and a great narrator. This Sci-Fi tale based on the Wizard of Oz takes on its own life with unique twists. I thought I knew what would happen because I knew TWOO but that was not to be. There are twists and turns giving the story new excitement. I like the characters and their futuristic twists on classic characters. I enjoyed listening to this tale and can't wait to see what happens next.
