Historia
The fairest flower in Mawbry is Erienne Fleming, the enchanting, raven-haired daughter of the village mayor. Charming, spirited, and exquisitely lovely, she is beset on all sides by suitors, any one of whom would pay a king's fortune for a place in her heart. But Erienne has eyes for only one: the dashing and witty young Yankee, Christopher Seton. But marriage for love is not to be, for her irresponsible and unscrupulous father, crippled by gambling debts, is intent on auctioning off his beautiful daughter to the highest bidder.

Historia
At one time, Corrie ten Boom would have laughed at the idea that she had a story to tell. For the first 50 years of her life, nothing out of the ordinary ever happened to her. She was a spinster watchmaker living contentedly with her sister and their elderly father in the tiny house over their shop in Haarlem. Their uneventful days, as regulated as their own watches, revolved around their abiding love for one another. But with the Nazi invasion and occupation of Holland, everything changed....

TRUE Story of light in the darkest of places
Revisado: 09-28-23
Amazing, uplifting TRUE story of the incredible God given faith, courage, and forgiveness in the darkest of times and places.
Endearing, frightening. Wonderful.
I hope I can strive to be the tiniest bit more like Corrie, Betsy, and their whole family.
Demonstrates the power of faith, kindness, and belief in God’s Will and constant love.
A message as pertinent today as it was in WWII.
A MUST READ!!!
Narrator wonderful.

Encouragement to Stay God’s Course
Revisado: 09-23-23
By walking us through the decades long trials of Joseph(the coat of many colors),
Max Lucado shows us how God can bring good out of everything.
So encouraging and realistic.
Love the story of Joseph’s commitment to God inspite of all the bad things that happened to him. And, in the end, God used ALL of his trials for ultimate good.
Max includes other current day stories to illustrate; he is always easy to follow and understand.
Always a treat to hear narration by Ben Holland.

Historia
Tumors, injuries, ruptured vascular malformations—there is almost no such thing as a non-urgent brain surgery when it comes to kids. For a pediatric neurosurgeon working in the medical minefield of the brain—in which a single millimeter in every direction governs something that makes us essentially human—every day presents the challenge, and the opportunity, to give a new lease on life to a child for whom nothing is yet fully determined and all possibilities still exist.

Fascinating, easily understood insight into the stories of a high stakes medical field
Revisado: 09-19-23
Fascinating detailed stories of Dr Wellon’s career as pediatric neurosurgeon, the incredible patients and families, and the medical teams who work in this high stakes field.
Told with understandable medical detail.
His compassion makes you wish all physicians were like him.
He intersperses his personal stories, as they intertwine.
Thank you for baring your soul.
Also, shows great respect for all members of the team whether other physicians, nurses, technicians, EMTs.
As a nurse of 40 years, I appreciated this honoring of the entire medical team.
This is one I will listen to again!!!
Great job of narrating by Dr. Wellons.

In this definitive biography of one of Hollywood's most beloved stars, Michael Munn reveals the truth behind the diffident, earnest and kindly persona of Jimmy Stewart. Drawn from the author's formal interviews and informal meetings with the star and his friendship with Stewart's wife, Gloria, is this portrait of a man who came from the Presbyterian traditions of Pennsylvania to become one of the silver screen's enduring legends.

Best biography of Hollywood Legend
Revisado: 08-27-23
If you are a fan of classic Hollywood films, this is a must read!!
Pulls you in immediately; walks you through how an architect student ended up becoming one of Film’s legitimate icons.
Author does not whitewash everything.
Also, the many encounters of Michael Munn with Gloria and Jimmy Stewart, along with portions of interviews from others surrounding and working with Jimmy Stewart, brought authenticity and great enjoyment to this book.
Jimmy Stewart had many roles in his life: son, friend, patriot, WW II hero, husband, father, and of course, actor. All these were covered objectively and in full.
Learned much I had never heard, and have a list of movies to rewatch, and new ones to enjoy for the first time.
Narrator was fantastic!! Subtly slipped into voices quoted. I never had difficulty knowing who was speaking.
A MUST READ!!!

Truly, enjoyable, read! One you will want to return to.
Max Lucado uses the book of Romans to explain the gift of grace, how it impacts your life, and how to receive it.
Plenty of wonderful stories to help illustrate each of the teachings.
Ben Holland does a wonderful job of narrating. His voice is soothing, clear, and makes the book easy to listen to. Absolutely no distractions.
Highly recommend!!

A Must Listen for Classic Movie Fans
Revisado: 11-30-22
If you love classic movies and want to know more about old Hollywood, these podcasts are for you!
Brandon Davis does a great job of curating interesting topics and gathering interesting guests, then keeps the conversation moving, but allowing the guests to tell their stories.
I have actually never listened to a podcast, but have enjoyed Brandon’s in-depth interviews and presentations.
