Historia
After her apprenticeship was done and a place in the guild of villains secured, Tori's life was supposed to get simpler. Unfortunately, a poorly timed errand sees Tori caught in the debut of a new team of capes, one wearing an all-too-familiar name. Thrust into the spotlight, Tori will have to navigate her unwanted fame as well as the suspiciously superheroic new neighbors down the hall, all while keeping up with her own villainous enterprises. With the guild no longer a secret, Hephaestus needs to grow as strong as possible to face her mounting threats.

Part Two of a series I hope doesn’t end anytime soon.
Revisado: 08-16-22
The story here is part of a fascinating exploration of a setting where all the homework has been done. Everything about the way things are put together is intelligent and complete; so refreshing for a genre known for occasional slapdash inconsistency. The pulled-together coherency of the writing doesn’t stop with the setting, the story and character details are tightly managed and engaging.
I’d recommend this series to anyone who even vaguely likes superhero stories, this is one of the very best.

Tom’s team needs a last-minute grunt to handle things on their next field visit. Jamie, eager to do anything, immediately signs on. What Tom doesn't tell Jamie is that the animals his team cares for are not here on Earth. Not our Earth, at at least. In an alternate dimension, dinosaur-like creatures named Kaiju roam a warm and human-free world.

This was a very fun book to listen to. Wil Wheaton clearly enjoyed reading it as you could hear the laughter in his narration many many times. Worth the pick up, light hearted and entertaining. Thank you for this book Mr. Scalzi.

As a falconer, I absolutely loved this!
Revisado: 12-01-16
I'm not usually one to read non-fiction. But this story was exceptional. I was completely engrossed, tearful at times, and surprised to realize that another could have the same misgivings about their falconry experience as I did. But the story is so much more than that!
People who have read this and knew I was a falconer kept telling me that I must read this! I've heard that before with the the book "My Side of the Mountain," which I hated and couldn't finish. But, I decided to give this a listen and am so glad that I did. You will too.
This book is very relatable and listening to it read by the author is an experience like no other. I cherish this book now and intend to keep my hard copy as well.

Historia
The Remains of the Day is a profoundly compelling portrait of the perfect English butler and of his fading, insular world in postwar England. At the end of his three decades of service at Darlington Hall, Stevens embarks on a country drive, during which he looks back over his career to reassure himself that he has served humanity by serving "a great gentleman". But lurking in his memory are doubts about the true nature of Lord Darlington's "greatness" and graver doubts about his own faith in the man he served.

Slow getting going but oh, so worth it!
Revisado: 08-31-15
I enjoyed this movie very much and the book was not a disappointment. Early though the the character has a lengthy discussion about what it takes to be the best butler. I was a little put off by this and the book almost lost me. But I persevered and I am so glad I did. Later as you get to know the character better it makes sense why the author chose to do this.
For those out there like me, hang in there through that discussion. The book is beautiful and the voice actor does a phenomenal job at bringing the characters to life.

A year had passed since Ben Holiday bought the Magic Kingdom from the wizard Meeks, who had set a series of pitfalls against him. Ben survived, by the aid of three loyal friends: Questor Thews, an ill-trained wizard; Abernathy, a talking dog, the Court Scribe; and the lovely Willow, who sometimes had to be a tree.

Just feels like I have heard this before.
Revisado: 05-21-15
The narrator was fantastic! He really breathes life into the characters.
The story on the other hand... Well...The first book is fresh and original, unlike the Sword of Shannara which to me just felt like a re-write of Tolkien. This one, though I remember enjoying it as a young girl, and listening to it today feels like it's a story that has been told in a much better way.
The Last Unicorn is a favorite story of mine, I almost know it by heart. This story has such similarities to it as to be distracting.
If you don't know the story of The Last Unicorn, then you will probably enjoy this book. The Kingdom of Landover is an intriguing storyline. But if you are like me, then you may find yourself more making comparisons to a story that you already know then really paying attention to the plot.

A most satisfying end
Revisado: 03-13-15
All the Weyrs of Pern is the successful culmination of Anne Mccaffery's entertaining Dragons of Pern Series. I listen to the other novels just to build up to listening to this. It is my favorite of the series.
I do have some complaints about the performance. It's read a bit too slowly and he makes Master Robinton sound like he is always pontificating in a patronizing manner, which I didn't like. He also made F'lar sound like he was from New Jersey. But overall, it's a good listen once you get used to his voice acting.
As a tip, do yourself a favor and read Dragon's Dawn before this one.

Hmm... May have to return this one
Revisado: 11-20-13
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I think children might enjoy the character voices, but it was too juvenile for me.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz?
Silver slippers?!
How did the narrator detract from the book?
The narrator tries to make everyone sound different by applying regional accents and it is really distracting from the story. She makes the wizard sound like Ellie from Boarderlands. I couldn't finish the book because I couldn't stand to listen to him talk anymore!
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I love the book, just not a fan of the narration.
