The sense of dread keeps you listening
Revisado: 05-05-20
I've enjoyed listening to or reading every one of these stories because of the delicious feeling of dread and anticipation threaded throughout each one. I especially liked the futuristic or sci-fi themed stories, but they all have their unique place in providing a wide range of chills. Susan May is a master of setting the stage so I feel like I'm right there in that small, dusty secret room or waiting in the rain for my husband to return with the car, or hiding under the covers trying to follow the monster rules. Really loving it.

Historia
When the worst tragedy a mother can face occurs, Dawn is devastated and broken, and she doesn’t know how she’ll survive. That is, until 10 days later, when she discovers, somehow, she’s been given an incredible gift. She's back again at the morning of the accident. Now saving her son is within her power, but there’s a twist she hadn’t figured. She can’t change or do anything differently because she’s become merely a passenger in her own body. Only one thing might save her son, but for that she’ll need to discover a simple truth before time runs out.

A more chilling version of Groundhog Day.
Revisado: 04-14-20
I just downloaded this yesterday and I've already finished it, even listening at work for a little while today. The incredible detail that goes into this story makes it agonizing and enjoyable at the same time, with suspense building all along. I was starting to get frustrated with Kylie until the sun broke through and I discovered the process of learning she was experiencing. Chet is just how I would like to be; accepting and loving and encouraging. Dawn wasn't very likable at first, but then I realized she's just like many of us, struggling to be a good parent, a good neighbor, more accepting of those around us. The performance just moved it along at a brisk pace, keeping me captivated.

Historia
After going on the run—for what he knows and has created—autistic Eddie Parks is back in Harmony House, the think tank that has been his sanctuary for sixteen years. With his miraculous invention, an “echo box” that excavates sounds from the past, Eddie achieved the only thing he wanted: to hear his late mother sing. For Bob Stenson, leader of the American Heritage Foundation, whoever controls the echo box controls the future. To seize the device, he has to get Eddie where he’s most vulnerable: by kidnapping Dr. Skylar Drummond, the only person in the world Eddie trusts.
