Fascinating and Enriching Exploration

I always love learning from Dr. Ehrman about the history of Christian mythologies, and this book was no exception. The exploration of afterlife beliefs was both fascinating and thoroughly researched, shedding light on the evolution of commonly held ideas. I especially appreciated the Afterword chapter—it offered uplifting and thoughtful words to live by. Thank you, Dr. Ehrman, for another deeply satisfying and enriching learning experience!

Excellent, in-depth history of the Trump family. Provides helpful context to the lifelong behaviors exhibited by Donald Trump: He was a bully as a kid and is still a bully. He mismanages every aspect of his business, loses money, and blames others for his own failures. He has always misled and/or lied to others in order to serve no one else but himself. This book reveals a toxic pattern of behaviors.

I really enjoyed learning about the archeological context behind the lives of certain biblical characters. But overall the course was a little more cursory than I’m used to with The Great Courses and I did miss the typical deep dive approach of other professors. Maybe it was meant for a different audience than usual due to Nat Geo collaboration…

Brilliant Course!

Professor Symes brilliantly uncovers how so much of today’s consciousness is shaped by medieval thought, rituals, politics, linguistics, etc. Her passion and expertise for the subject is infectious and I especially love her lyrical use of various old and contemporary languages. I have already listened to a few chapters more than once with deep appreciation. Thank you for enriching my understanding of our world Professor Symes and The Great Courses!
