Interesting Beginning
Revisado: 04-01-17
What made the experience of listening to Stormwielder the most enjoyable?
Lots of action in the fighting scenes.
Who was your favorite character and why?
My favorite character was Alistair. He was loyal and trustworthy and showed great compassion for his fellow travelers.
Have you listened to any of David Stifel’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the first book I've listened to that is narrated by David Stifel. I have mixed reactions to his performance. While his voice is clear and effective for adult male characters, I didn't really care for the voices he used for women and older teens--they all sounded like children.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I found all the battle scenes to be exciting!
Any additional comments?
I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the next two books.

A Different Kind of Post Apocalyptic Novel
Revisado: 03-27-17
If you could sum up Hood in three words, what would they be?
Intense family connections
Who was your favorite character and why?
My favorite character was Hood. He felt a deep connection to family, community and humanity in general. The times he lived in were bleak yet his optimism and belief in the goodness of people shined. Hood had to do some hard things that came with a lot of emotional and physical pain and I found his reactions to be authentic to his character.
What does Michael Jameson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Certainly the bickering between Whiskey and Hood would not have been the same. Although the words might have been tough/rough, I could hear the underlying love that these two characters had for one another. Mr. Jameson also did a great job of expressing Hood's thoughts and feelings in the final scenes of the book (I cried).
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
We are all family.
Any additional comments?
I liked how realistic the characters were. All were flawed, none were perfect.

Chaos is Coming!
Revisado: 03-27-17
What did you love best about The Crescent Moon?
I listened to the first 3 books in the series (bundle) just prior to listening to The Crescent Moon. I enjoyed hearing the updates on the main characters, Chris, Kathy, Holly, Josh, etc. I thought the character development over time was excellent. Each faced monumental challenges yet keep on going.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Crescent Moon?
Josh and Natalie's relationship. Seemed so normal.
Which scene was your favorite?
Josh's reintroduction to his magic while dueling evil forces in a parking lot.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, and I did. At just under 2 hours listening time, this wasn't difficult!
Any additional comments?
The spells in these books are sooooo bad that they are truly funny.

Sara Barnes thought her life was perfectly ordinary - until the night she began stepping into other people’s dreams. Follow Sara as she learns to cope with this extraordinary gift (or curse) in the first three books of the Dream Doctor Mysteries: DREAM STUDENT - It’s bad enough that, thanks to her supernatural talent, Sara is learning more than she ever needed to know about her friends and classmates, watching their most secret fantasies whether she wants to or not. Much worse are the other dreams, the ones she sees nearly every night, featuring a strange, terrifying man.

If you could sum up Dream Sequence in three words, what would they be?
Interesting
Compelling
Mysterious
What did you like best about this story?
Dream Student: The mystery and Sara's relationship with her female friends.
Dream Doctor: Discussion of medical school seemed realistic.
Dream Child: Lizzie!
Have you listened to any of Heather Jane Hogan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Nope. I liked the narration, especially the voices used for children.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Stay Awake!
Any additional comments?
These books are perfect for listening at 1.25X speed. At standard speed they are too slow (see other reviews). I'm guessing a production error because @1.25X there is no voice distortion, As for my review: 3 stars for Dream Student (I have 2 young adult male children--19 year old Saint Brian is totally unbelievable). 4 stars for the other two books in the bundle. Sara's unwavering belief that her (very young) husband is the best ever is still quite nauseating but the rest of the story is rather interesting. I really liked Dream Child as the children in the story were quite adorable.

Action Packed!
Revisado: 03-11-17
Where does Death Marked rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
You want me to rank my children. LOL? I've been privileged to listen to a lot of amazing books. My preference is for longer books--either complicated world systems, or books describing generations of families (a la Ken Follett). I liked this book and would place it squarely in the middle.
What did you like best about this story?
I found the plot/premise to be very interesting. The horror aspects were well written and I was successfully creeped out!
Have you listened to any of Michael Tamburrino’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I believe this is the first book I've listened to that is narrated by Michael Tamburrino. His voice characterization was amazing. Each character was given life and personality in a unique way.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I found the horror aspects of the story to be, well, horrifying. Usually zombies make me laugh (I know, I'm not normal) but the ones in this book aren't comical...they're scary.
Any additional comments?
The book started off a little slow for me--I had neglected to read any blurb about the book so I kept wondering what this book was about. So, I put the book aside a few times in order to listen to other books. I regret that I did so. The only reason I mention this is to assure anyone who encounters the same issue to just hang in there because once the action starts it is a whirlwind! I really enjoyed the book and look forward to any others in the series.

Historia
The terror begins in a suburban café with seven people brutally murdered by an axe-wielding maniac. The killer is left dead at the scene and that should have been the end of a rare tragedy. But within days, in the very same city, more mass killings occur. Ten eldercare facility residents die in an arson-lit blaze. Then a mother attending a family gathering embarks on a terrifying gun rampage. All the killers are now dead, leaving behind unanswerable questions.

Overall, a good read!
Revisado: 03-09-17
What made the experience of listening to Deadly Messengers the most enjoyable?
The killings were unique, well written and delivered.
Would you be willing to try another book from Susan May? Why or why not?
Yes. This the 2nd book I've read that was written by Susan May. I like her plots and the character development although I didn't find any of the main characters in this book to be very likeable.
What does Anne Johnstonbrown bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I love dialogue. Anne Johnstonbrown did a great portrayal of Beverly, a bystander/survivor of the first killing.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
The beginning and the end of the book were especially good. I found the descriptions of the killings to be interesting and I definitely wanted to know how the book ended.
Any additional comments?
I really liked the premise of this book. The story was interesting and well researched. However, I tend to get tired of living inside characters' heads. The story was told from the POV of several characters; I think the narration could have been better if a 3rd party POV was used more. I also felt as if the romance angle was unnecessary and didn't seem plausible.

Great story took my troubles away!
Revisado: 03-04-17
What did you love best about The Troubles Keeper?
Rory has a unique gift wherein he can make other people's lives better, if only for awhile, by taking their troubles away. I like this idea of transforming the lives of others by being a positive force.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Oddly enough, my favorite character was Rory's deceased mother. Rory often refers to his mother by quoting things "as my momma used to say." His reverence for his mother and the snippets he shares, show what an amazing job she did raising a child who was obviously different. By allowing him to be himself, and respecting his "otherness", he became a man eager to use his gift to help others rather than for nefarious gain.
Which character – as performed by Steve Marvel – was your favorite?
I rather enjoyed Mr. Marvels characterization of the psychic Christopher. The change in attitude as the scene progresses was spot on.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
At times. The beginning was a bit slow and I grew a bit tired of being inside Rory's head as he pined after his love interest. However, once the action started I did want to finish it all at once! I found the serial killer element interesting and a bit freaky. I listened to the book over two days.
Any additional comments?
I really liked this book and hope there will be a sequel. As mentioned before, the beginning is a bit slow and Rory is quite annoying with his washy-washyness over Mariana. However, Rory's character grows throughout the book and it gets better! I was surprised by the serial killer's identity and thought the story pulled together well.

I like the plot...
Revisado: 03-01-17
Would you try another book from Joy Ohagwu and/or Andrea Tuszynski?
Maybe. I am not a Christian, however, I was able to appreciate that this IS a Christian story and, as such, reflected the values inherent to that faith tradition. I liked the plot of Red and I would read another of the author's books if the sermonizing were toned down a bit. The characters were well developed and believable.
Would you recommend Red to your friends? Why or why not?
I would but would be sure to mention the strong religious aspect.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
I like the narrator's soft voice but pacing seemed off during the highly dramatic scenes.
Could you see Red being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Not really. Disclaimer: I do not watch television.

Comic Book Come to Life!
Revisado: 02-11-17
What made the experience of listening to Steelheart the most enjoyable?
I loved the characterization of the epics. So many different superpowers and weaknesses.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Steelheart?
David's ability to think on his feet. His interaction with the arms dealer.
What does MacLeod Andrews bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
His timing was perfect. It was as if he was reading a super hero comic book and making it come to life. This is generally NOT my genre, but I loved hearing this story.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Not really. It was very engaging and I didn't hesitate to come back to it. I found myself thinking about the story while NOT listening which says a lot about the story.
Any additional comments?
As said before, this is generally not the type of book I would pick up. I bought it as part of a 2 for 1 Audible deal as I was having difficulty choosing. The book had good ratings so I gave it a trry. So glad I did! I'll be buying the rest in the series.
