Historia
When the Chaos Motorcycle Club came to call, Harlan “Hugger” McCain wasn’t ready to be welcomed into the fold. They said he was a legacy. He felt like an outcast. But he patched in anyway. And he was all in to be a part of their not-quite-outlaw missions. This takes him down to Phoenix, right into the orbit of Diana Armitage, a beautiful, green-eyed woman with a heart of gold and a scarily honed tendency to sacrifice for pretty much everyone she cares about and some people she barely knows.

Revisado: 04-16-25
When I heard this book was heading back to Chaos I was so excited!
Not what I was anticipating at all! The story was boring, the characters were not exciting and we only got a little look at our old Chaos friends! Any so called action mostly took place inside an apartment and I just didn't feel the romance/love between the lead characters. Then finally the the over dramatic narration by Ms. Stella Bloom just ruined any hopes I had of enjoying at least a small part of the book! As much as I love Ms. Ashley, and own and love over 80 of her books Smooth Sailing was a big miss for me. On to the next with higher hopes for a fun story and although Carly Robins is not a favorite narrator ( she also tends to be too dramatic) I do prefer her narration to that of Ms. Bloom, so fingers crossed!

Historia
When Meredith Mitchell agreed to stay with her actress cousin, Eve, in the run up to Eve's daughter's wedding, she anticipated a degree of drama. But she can hardly have expected it to include murder, blackmail, and unrequited love. Or to involve a certain Chief Inspector Markby, a middle aged divorcee.

Interesting story but characters not to my taste.
Revisado: 04-06-25
I agree with another review that the heroine, Meredith, was most annoying! I really didn't care for her sharp tongue and the fact that she never shared her " findings" with the police that lead to people dying! I was very frustrated by her actions and could not figure out what made the police inspector fall for her as she was mostly rude to him!
I have read Ms. Grangers Ben Ross mystery series and absolutely loved each adventure and character so am sad that this was a big miss for me.

Not the best book from Ms. Roberts
Revisado: 01-28-25
I have quite a few books by this author in my library and recently added this story to my collection. I really didn't find this to be very interesting or exciting. I thought the lead characters were kind of bland and the story itself was a bit of a yawn.
I usually love books by this author but sadly not this one. I doubt I will ever reread it.

Not my favorite Devereaux story
Revisado: 10-31-24
This story is quite tedious and I just could not get invested in its characters! It started out ok but just took too long to get anywhere! As I had used a credit to purchase the book I did read it all. I particularly found the heroine, Bailey, to be quite annoying! Sadly I doubt I will ever read this again and wish I'd used my credit to purchase a different Devereaux book, usually I find her books a pleasure, just not this one!

Couldn't finish!
Revisado: 09-22-24
I recently read the first book in this series, the Pirate, and found it to be extremely annoying! I was hoping that this story would be better but after only two chapters the heroine once again turned out to be a pushy, bossy woman who was very manipulative and sounded.like a prissy old maid! I think the narrator doesn't help matters as her voice makes heroine sound like a middle aged school marm from olden days lol!
Sorry, couldn't stand to listen to another stalkerish heroine who won't take no for an answer!!
Giving this book a miss!

Historical romance novelist Kate Inskip needs a break. Divorced, overworked, and completely stressed out, her writing buddies decide to surprise her with exactly what she needs - a vacation on a remote island that boasts a rich history and a crumbling castle built by an 18th-century pirate. But things don't go according to plan. A long flight, lost luggage, and a missed connection leave Kate wishing she'd stayed home. And a knife-wielding mugger is the last straw.

Not a favorite Krentz story
Revisado: 09-22-24
This could have been a really fun and enjoyable story! We had the idyllic location, a handsome and charismatic hero with an absolutely adorable son, then came the heroine, the just awful heroine!
Kate came across as an obnoxious, spoiled female child of a woman who was bossy, interfering and sounded like she was an old spinster schoolmarm!
This is only the 6th book I've read by Ms. Krentz, I can honestly say I have thoroughly enjoyed all of them until this particular book.
I can only think Ms. Krentz thought her heroine to be smart and sassy but sadly Kate turned out to be a real dud personality wise! Our hero and his son deserved a better love match!! The narrator made her characters all sound old, a younger sounding voice might have been a better choice. This was a miss for me!

Historia
It's nearly Christmas, Julia Devine's favourite time of the year. She's just programmed a wonderful lead into the holidays at Sunny Street Cinema, which leaves her plenty of time to worry about going home to Cumbria for Christmas. Her mum and stepdad are fine, but the thought of spending another holiday with her awful stepsister Becca is enough to make a Scrooge out of anyone. When Becca calls to let her know about the dreamy pilot she's bringing to Christmas lunch, Julia finally snaps and does something very silly.

So long and so boring!
Revisado: 12-13-23
At nineteen hours long it took approx 15 hours of background info and just boring story to get to the main p!ot of the book, which I had guessed way back in about chapter three! By the time the murder happened and things got going ( all preventable if the heroine
Hadnt acted so irrationally at a key moment, i actually groaned knowing exactly what she was going to do, so predictable!) I was already way over the whole thing! Boring, way too long, predictable and I felt no empathy with the heroine, a total waste of a credit! So sad because I have read loads of good books by this author!.she really missed the mark with this one in my view!
