Powerful and perfect in every way, a King masterpiece performed brilliantly by a King favorite.
If you have seen the movie, that adaptation was pretty spot on.
Knowing the story though did not take away from the experience at all. In a way, it added a different kind of horror/suspense feeling...that You know it's coming and you cant stop it!

So many have said. Different than you may expect of King but doesn't disappoint. It's an intriguing story with horrifying moments, with harrowing and never say die characters.
The narration is superb and the style and non distracting sound, puts you in the investigation room for an investigation and deposition you won't forget.

Make no mistake. This is the comic book series, in audio form. Keep that in mind. No one is telling you the story. You are hearing the characters perform the story. If you understand this, you are in for a magical and wild ride. Also, though it is a comic book, it is not for children as it does contain graphic language and situations so …

The acting in this production is astounding. The story is engaging and quite brilliant.

To begin, it confused me. I had to get use to the format, akin to the old-timey radio shows or for today's listeners, podcasts. It is a full on performance featuring incredible voice talent. There are even quick cameos by Stephen King, Joe Hill, and Gabriel Rodriguez. The sound effects and music are of outstanding quality. Some musical interludes are long.

If I may lend a suggestion, Do listen to this fantastic work, but when you can kick back, close out the world, let your mind go, become immersed. It can get intense and even chilling. The depth of this work and aspects that weave through it, was a bonus.

Note: At first, I had to refer back to the comic book character list (google hehe) to keep the characters straight, particularly when time periods change from the group with the young Locke kids vs the group their parents ran with. That might just be me, though. I don't suggest trying to binge it all but rather, consume it in parts. The format, the natural breaks, lend well to this.

wonderful story. It is intriguing, fascinating, a little trippy, and we'll done.
The narration was good.
The music indeed is the problem. Though it's not through the entirety of the story it does eventually get in the way of the narration and thus enjoyment if only every now and then.

Well worth it! A New Favorite

Fantastic story in every way. Reminiscent of Firestarter, yet different and on a much grander scale. Narration is well done. Characters are developed and discernable without being overdone or silly. wether you are a SK fan or not...
My advice, Go for it!

I really did love everything about this audio book. The author is witty, funny, easy to comprehend, and motivational without it feeling forced or over bearing. It makes sense and really gave me some aha moments. To make it even better, I for real laughed out loud. The author was the narrator and oh my gods he is so funny. I'm glad I got the audio. Hearing him read it just makes it so hilarious. I highly recommend it.
