An all time favorite

I did not have the capacity to understand this deep love story in high school. As an adult, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audiobook. Pride and prejudice has become an all-time favorite of mine. Mr. Collins and Lydia were even more deplorable in the book then they’ve been shown in film. I’m certain I will revisit this book frequently. Definitely a classic!! Thanks Jane.

I loved learning more about Tina’s journey. As a practicing Buddhist, she gave me so many gems that I’ll carry for life. Thank you, Tina. You are loved. Will definitely be giving this another read. Also, loved the narrator.

What an outstanding memoir

I was so happy to get a look inside the icon Cicely Tyson’s life. She meant so much to me and my friends as a beautiful portrayal of an artist and Black woman. She will be missed. Great read.

Lecrae has brought me so much healing!!!

Where do I even start? The chapters about growing up fatherless hit home for me. Lecrae not only gave us an empathetic view into a Black man’s life but offered solutions to how we can heal our own pain. He called out the pitfalls of the Christian church and gave viable solutions for change and betterment. In all, I am so in awe of Lecrae’s vulnerability. From the beginning of the book, he laid his deepest shames on the table. I’m so thankful that I read this book. I’m sharing it with all my people!! Also, Lecrae’s music is fire. So happy he put my favorite song from Restoration on the ending credits!!! Thank you again for this wonderful book my brothers. The writing is phenomenal and I am totally inspired.

Enjoyed very much

Lenny Kravitz grew up as Black royalty and I had no idea! I was very excited to hear his experiences and learn of all the amazing artists he grew up around. Thanks for letting us in, Lenny. I will definitely be watching The Jeffersons and listening to your music!

Loved this book for myself and my students

I’ve read this sequel and the novel before it to my students for years now. Every time I open this book, the story comes to life even more so than before. Kimberly’s writing is superb and I appreciate all of the knowledge I’ve acquired from her writing. Her character development is amongst my favorite. What a great read!!

The best book ever (says my students)

The book was interesting because it talks a spit war in a way that kids can understand. My students described it as a compelling story of love and hate. The main character had to persevere through difficult times. We recommend that other students read this book!

Beautiful and Complex

I have so much respect for Tony Morrison and her writing style. Not only was this novel so beautifully put together, it was just as much complex in its structure. The story she told took me on rides through my own upbringing as a Black American Woman. This novel will definitely remain a classic treasure. Thank you Toni.

An emotional and funny journey

Wow, I probably cried a million times during this book. It was so beautiful and I'm so happy that I listened to it. I would recommend anyone who still believes in true love to read this book. What a great story. I was brought here by Juanita the movie on Netflix.
