Historia
Modern knowledge workers communicate constantly. Their days are defined by a relentless barrage of incoming messages and back-and-forth digital conversations - a state of constant, anxious chatter in which nobody can disconnect, and so nobody has the cognitive bandwidth to perform substantive work. There was a time when tools like email felt cutting edge, but a thorough review of current evidence reveals that the "hyperactive hive mind" workflow they helped create has become a productivity disaster, reducing profitability and perhaps even slowing overall economic growth.

so. damn. true.
Revisado: 02-17-22
This was saying things that I've been thinking about forever but had rarely articulated in the lovely way that Cal Newport did. This is one of those books that everyone who has an email account should read, regardless of whether you do knowledge work or are the support staff for it.

Everyone should read this book
Revisado: 10-22-19
Everyone, man or woman, should read this book to understand the importance of all sides of a problem. Complicated things are manifestly multi-dimensional, and needless to say relationships are complicated - which makes the consideration of the underlying issues through a multivariate lens all the more important.

Historia
In The Righteous Mind, social psychologist Jonathan Haidt explores the origins of our divisions and points the way forward to mutual understanding. His starting point is moral intuition - the nearly instantaneous perceptions we all have about other people and the things they do. These intuitions feel like self-evident truths, making us righteously certain that those who see things differently are wrong. Haidt shows us how these intuitions differ across cultures, including the cultures of the political left and right.

I have to read this another 15 times
Revisado: 08-08-19
This might be one of the most fascinating books I've read in recent memory. There's a wealth of information that I can only fully digest if I read it another 15 or more times. The content of the book verbalized, and made more scientific, several vague and partially formed ideas that I had gathered throughout my life; and it all makes so much damn sense now. I highly recommend for everyone to read this, regardless of their cultural background, personality, political affiliation, or (literally) anything else :)

Historia
What does everyone in the modern world need to know? Renowned psychologist Jordan B. Peterson's answer to this most difficult of questions uniquely combines the hard-won truths of ancient tradition with the stunning revelations of cutting-edge scientific research. Humorous, surprising, and informative, Dr. Peterson tells us why skateboarding boys and girls must be left alone, what terrible fate awaits those who criticize too easily, and why you should always pet a cat when you meet one on the street.

everyone should read this
Revisado: 04-08-19
Loved every minute of it. The contents of this book can be dark at times but they are all words to live by. It's amazing to me how much the biblical references resonated with me, despite me being pretty damn atheists. Stories and ideas are most powerfully conveyed through archetypes, which Jordan Peterson does beautifully - and I think that's the bottom line.

Historia
Models is the first book ever written on seduction as an emotional process rather than a logical one, a process of connecting with women rather than impressing them. It's the most mature and honest guide on how a man can attract women without faking behavior, without lying and without emulating others. A game-changer.
