Historia
When I arrive unannounced at my husband's studio in need of a shoulder to cry on after hearing that my best student, Alex, has died, I see a pair of wineglasses drying by the sink, and my deepest fear is confirmed: my husband is having an affair. Most women would fall to their knees in tears and throw him out of the house - but I just can't bring myself to do it. Instead, I go home and cook a healthy dinner for our children, walk the dog, and unload the dishwasher without complaint. I need this marriage to work to protect a terrible secret of my own....

It was ok
Revisado: 04-30-21
The protagonist was difficult to like. I thought it was good, but not as amazing as some of the other reviews stated.

Historia
Nina once bought into the idea that her fancy liberal arts degree would lead to a fulfilling career. When that dream crashed, she turned to stealing from rich kids in LA alongside her wily Irish boyfriend, Lachlan. Nina learned from the best: Her mother was the original con artist, hustling to give her daughter a decent childhood despite their wayward life. But when her mom gets sick, Nina puts everything on the line to help her, even if it means running her most audacious, dangerous scam yet.

Amazing book and so well researched
Revisado: 01-12-21
I can’t believe how brilliant Mr. Muraresku is! As a person who was raised in the Catholic Church and someone who 40+ years ago experimented with LSD, I now have a much richer understanding of my experiences. However, this book blew me away! At first I thought his ideas were crazy until I listened to his thorough research. I can’t say enough about how amazing this book is. It made me rethink pretty much everything I was taught I not only loved his theory that the Eucharist was originally a drug-infused drink that sparked a world religion along with an inquisition that murdered thousands of innocent people but I also really enjoyed his writing style. Everyone should read this book!

Historia
In the summer of 1862, a group of young artists led by the passionate and talented Edward Radcliffe descends upon Birchwood Manor in rural Oxfordshire. Their plan: to spend a secluded summer month in a haze of inspiration and creativity. But by the time their stay is over, one woman has been shot dead while another has disappeared; a priceless heirloom is missing; and Edward Radcliffe’s life is in ruins. Over 150 years later, Elodie Winslow, a young archivist in London, uncovers a leather satchel containing two seemingly unrelated items.

So confusing - skip this one!
Revisado: 05-29-20
I'm on chapter 18 and determined to finish this book even though I have no idea what in the heck is going on. Too many characters. Some of them just appear out of nowhere. Not sure if I have a poor download or if this book just really jumps around. But I'd say SKIP IT! Don't waste your money or your time. I love Kate Morton's writing and her other books but this one is just too confusing. Who are Leonard and Jack? What happened to the girl from India and how did she get into this book in the first place? I feel like many extra characters and stories have been added just to make the book longer. I still have no idea what this book is even about! I have only 6 hrs. left. The person who is reading the book does give an excellent performance!
