If you like this genre, the combination of author and narrator is as good an experience as audio books get.

Historia
Tamsyn Muir’s Gideon the Ninth unveils a solar system of swordplay, cut-throat politics, and lesbian necromancers. Her characters leap out of the audio, as skillfully animated as arcane revenants. The result is a heart-pounding epic science fantasy. Brought up by unfriendly, ossifying nuns, ancient retainers, and countless skeletons, Gideon is ready to abandon a life of servitude and an afterlife as a reanimated corpse.

Slightly predictable but an enjoyable ride
Revisado: 07-19-24
This book is a fun story. In some ways it mirrors the hunger games and other youth competition in dystopian universe plots. It is slightly predictable but the reveals are in ways that are difficult to foresee.

After a year of fighting across three different lands, Dante and Blays have finally brought Gladdic to justice - and in the process, they've unleashed a horror beyond all reckoning. The enemy is known as the White Lich. He is ancient. He is immensely powerful. And Gladdic believes he will soon enslave all of Tanar Atain. Their only chance to defeat him is to strike fast, before the lich has regained his power. But attacking him directly would be suicide.

Amazing
Revisado: 01-02-24
The story helps build the friendship of Blaise and Dante and ever expands on their world. This book made them true literary characters with the depth that comes with that.

Overall good story, great performance, can be confusing
Revisado: 02-02-23
Good book but there are times where it seems like the author intentionally doesn’t explain things and wants you to continue reading (listening in this case) to gather enough context clues as to what’s going on. I think that in some of these cases that could’ve taken 50 pages to understand what wizard’s title means. Overall, decent story, sometimes complex to the point of being confusing but I’m going to buy the next book….
