Historia
In April 1942, Lale Sokolov, a Slovakian Jew, is forcibly transported to the concentration camps at Auschwitz-Birkenau. When his captors discover that he speaks several languages, he is put to work as a Tätowierer (German for tattooist), tasked with permanently marking his fellow prisoners. Imprisoned for more than two and a half years, Lale witnesses horrific atrocities and barbarism - but also incredible acts of bravery and compassion. Risking his own life, he uses his position to exchange jewels and money from murdered Jews for food to keep his fellow prisoners alive.

Beautiful love story

Great book, couldn’t stop listening. I didn’t care for the narrator’s “female voice” which in my opinion sounded forced therefore I gave performance a 4 out of 5 stars. I loved the epilogue out found the conclusion of the book especially special.

Historia
Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, Tara Westover was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her family was so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education, and no one to intervene when one of Tara’s older brothers became violent. When another brother got himself into college, Tara decided to try a new kind of life. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge University.

Historia
Looking at real estate isn’t usually a life-or-death situation, but an apartment open house becomes just that when a failed bank robber bursts in and takes a group of strangers hostage. The captives include a recently retired couple who relentlessly hunt down fixer-uppers to avoid the painful truth that they can’t fix their own marriage. There’s a wealthy bank director who has been too busy to care about anyone else and a young couple who are about to have their first child but can’t seem to agree on anything.

Engaging, humorous and heartfelt
Revisado: 01-26-22
Laughed out loud and smiled often while listening to this book. Such a great story of loss, hope and human compassion. Just what we need in a world that is becoming more and more divisive. We should all be taken hostage and so we can discover the shared human struggle and innate goodness that binds us together.

Historia
Margin is the space that once existed between ourselves and our limits. Today we use margin just to get by. This book is for anyone who yearns for relief from the pressure of overload. Reevaluate your priorities, determine the value of rest and simplicity in your life, and see where your identity really comes from. The benefits can be good health, financial stability, fulfilling relationships, and availability for God's purpose.

I agree with the authors message
Revisado: 02-09-18
Great concept however I thought the book lacked everyday practical tools and focused a lot on the reasoning and benefits of valuing “margins” which are an easy sell. Overall I think the authors message could have been summed up in an article vs a book.
