Historia
When Chaz Perron's wife discovers that he is running a scam (posing as a marine biologist to doctor water samples so that an agribusiness tycoon can continue illegally dumping fertilizer into the Everglades), he pushes her overboard from a cruise liner. Unlucky for Chaz, Joey survives clutching a bale of Jamaican pot. Rescued from the Atlantic by a former police officer, Mick Stranahan, she decides not to report him but instead haunt and taunt him, with Mick's help, by playing dead.

chapters don't match book
Revisado: 11-22-21
I am really enjoying this book. The narration is fine.
However, I like to flip back and forth between the hardback and audible so I don't have to stop reading while doing chores, and since the chapters are not correct on audible, and don't line up with the book, it's not working out so great. It's an unnecessary headache. This happens quite often with Audible, but usually it's exactly a chapter off, which is easy enough to sort out, but being two chapters and a half off isn't quite as simple. It seems like an easy fix on Audible's end. I don't want to pay $20 for an annoyance.

Historia
Jefferson is an innocent and unwitting party to a deadly liquor store shoot-out in the 1940s. As the only survivor, he is tried and convicted of murder and sentenced to death. Grant Wiggins, a university-trained teacher at the plantation school, is persuaded to visit Jefferson in his cell. Wiggins is torn between staying in his native Cajun community or moving on. The 2 men gradually form a bond as they jointly discover the simple heroism of resisting - and denying - the expected.

Great Book and Great Reading
Revisado: 02-20-20
The book is a really powerful book. This audible reading is extremely well done. I think I enjoyed the book a lot more because of Audible.
