Acerca de esta escucha

Are you thinking of becoming a high school English teacher? Are you curious about what skills you need to be an effective educator? Are you wondering about how to build and maintain important relationships with students and colleagues? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions then this audiobook is for you...

50 Things to Know About Being a High School English Teacher, by Kelly Hawkins, offers an honest description of teaching English at the high school level. Most books on teaching only tell you about the positive aspects of the profession. Although there's nothing wrong with that, education is a complex world to navigate, and people should enter a teaching career armed with as much accurate information as possible.

In these sections you'll discover one educator’s experience over the last 22 years. This audiobook will help you learn what it takes to successfully work with adolescents on a daily basis.

By the time you finish this audiobook, you will know how to prepare for the academic year, how to manage the various roles teachers play, how to cope with the challenges of teaching, and how to connect with your students and colleagues. So grab your copy today. You'll be glad you did.

I listen to a LOT of audio books of all genres, and nothing beats the ones that the authors record themselves, because it truly allows you to experience their story, in “their voice,” and all the benefits that go along with that. That said, you also want a professional-grade audio experience, and not everyone who is gifted with the written word can deliver as well on the audio side. This narrative experience checks both boxes - it’s just the sort of “what I wish I knew” guide that seasoned teachers of all subjects would have loved to have had when starting out, told in the polished, experienced and passionate voice of someone who truly “gets it.” I highly recommend it as a leg-up for those starting on the noble path we fit into the title of “educators,” but who really prove to be so much more.

A great how-to guide, very well narrated
