Acerca de esta escucha

It is 1985, and Brian Jackson, a working-class kid on full scholarship, has started his first semester at a university. In addition to his anxiety about his humble origins and whether or not he'll fit in, Brian harbors a dark secret: a burning, long-held, lovingly kindled ambition.... He wants to appear on the wildly popular TV quiz show University Challenge.

When he finally makes the team and his dream comes true, life seems perfect, especially given his infatuation for a fellow teammate - the beautiful, brainy, and intimidatingly WASPy Alice Harbinson. But just when Brian thinks he has all the answers, he discovers the question of attraction is the most mind-boggling of all....

If the awful English accents aren’t bad enough just wait for the Scottish! This fairly entertaining book is frankly butchered by an awful reading. I’m not sure what had me cringing most, Nicholls’ coming of age observations or Steele’s attempt at an “Essex” teen. This one deserves a re recording, please find a Brit to voice it next time.

British regional accents massacred by an American

David Nicholls tells a funny story. I bought this book because I loved listening to "You are Here". So funny. So insightful. He is a master of self-depricating humor, which he shows in "A Question of Attraction" if you ignore Erik Steele's awful attempt at narration. Steele throws away the best lines and has an odd rhythm that doesn't match the story at all. It's so unfortunate. I look forward to listening to more Nicholls' books if Steele has no part.

Story is hilarious narration is a travesty
