Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the author asked if anything I'd done over the past few years to try and make the alcoholic quit drinking had actually made my spouse stop drinking. Nothing I've tried has made him quit. Then the author suggested to stop doing something that was only making me frustrated.

The read was done fast but it was an okay book that lasted a half hour. I would have liked to have learned more.

This book deals with a difficult topic very thoughtfully. it isn't fraught with emotion, it's very factual. Often the focus of alcoholic support is on the alcoholic themselves, so it's nice to see some help for spouses of alcoholics as they suffer as much, if not more. This book would also be of use to other family members, friends and colleagues of an alcoholic. It is split up into handy manageable chunks, as a 31 day plan. Of course you can work your way through slower if you like. The content is down-to-earth and practical. From providing the best support, to avoiding arguments. It will teach you to take care of yourself as well as your spouse. I was gifted a copy of this book - all opinions are my own.
