Mia's testimony against Russian mobsters forced her to enter the witness protection program. She is relocated to a quaint cottage in Wolf Woods, near Mt. Rainier, far from everyone and everything she loved and cared for. All is calm, until she meets Dominic, the gorgeous ruggedly handsome owner of the mysterious Wolfe Estate. He is all alpha male, domineering, and controlling. The last thing she needs is to get involved with a sexy control freak.
Alpha werewolf Dominic Wolfe is the packs' enforcer. When an attractive young woman moves into a cottage near his territory; his senses are heightened to obsessive proportions. A human pet to meet his desires.
Dominic is determined to unveil Mia's real identity while keeping his own securely hidden. Haunted by the howls and shrieks coming from Dominic's estate, Mia wonders if she can really trust the enigmatic man she suspects of wanting a dominant-submissive relationship. A man who brings out her darker desires. Will hidden danger keep them from gratifying their burning passion?

This is the first book I've read (listened to) by Eva Gordon. I have to say that at first, I was a little... unsure about this one. It was a little rushed in parts and slow in others. However, it got a little better for me.
This is a little different than any other "shifter" book I have in my library. It's good, complete even if there were times I thought it was a little slow or moving too fast. That could just be me. The heat factor in this one gave me pause too. I am not usually into 'erotica' books, though this particular one wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I must say everything that was spelled out in this book was well done. And I am liking Mia, now. I wanted to clobber her one a few times but that is not a bad thing.
Mia is running from the Mob. Not just any mob, the Russian mob. Talk about a bad, bad thing. the Mob sucks all kinds of monkey balls. Hidden as she is, Mia is not safe from all the bad men in the woods, aka the wolves she is unaware of. Dominick, hot, young, dominate wolf in charge of punishment. Once Dominic finds out she is in the Witness Protection Program his instincts to protect the pretty little human. There is something special about her, but he's not sure what. Dominick wants her to be his Pet. But then there is more to them all.
With the work he does at his facility, his home of all places Mia becomes suspicious of things she hears and sees now. To add insult to injury, the King of all wolves has sent him a wolf to work with.. but it's a case that puts them all on edge.
It all comes to head when an out of control werewolf takes Mia. Not just any crazy wolf, he happens to be the Prince of all wolves. Dominic must save her.... or she will become a snack for the crazy wolf. But does it end there? Or is there more?

This book is fraught with sexual tension--Dominic and Mia set fire to the sheets. The plot is lively and has lots of potential going forward. The structure of Dominic's pack is a unique take on shifters (based on my limited reading within the genre anyway), and his role as enforcer is intriguing. The narrator chosen to perform the audiobook version does a good job of altering voices to differentiate male and female characters, however, the low timbre chosen for male speech seems overly deliberate and somehow forced. Still, fans of alpha male and shifter romances will enjoy the opening of this series.

An Interesting Read

Mia has spunk and a fantastic internal dialog. I was laughing while driving at many things that she said. I really liked how Dominic knew how to work Mia into trusting him. It was refreshing to see someone that wasn’t all heroic and clean as a whistle. Dominic is a high ranking wolf with duties to do. For Mia, I felt badly as her past started to unfold. It is as if you know there is more story to be told for both of them.
A funny thing about the story was the number of times that Dominic referred to the term “pet” I think it stuck out more for me hearing it than if I had read it. It just brought the title home more.
It took me a little bit to get into the groove of listening to the story. Meghan Kelly does a good job switching back and forth with the voices. She even gives the sense of the dominance of Dominic and the submissiveness of Mia. There was a bit of a cadence that seemed to be a little halting. Once I got past this and the characters interacted more, it was not as noticeable. The biggest thing in listening was that there seemed to be a change in audio volume & tone as the characters were speaking. It took me a bit to realize that it was whenever the characters where having internal thoughts/conversations.
Overall, the story was enjoyable and developed a solid base for the next set of stories. While the ending did leave you wanting to know more, it was not a cliff hanger in the truest sense.
Mia's sass cracks me up

What did you like best about Alpha Wolf's Pet, Hidden? What did you like least?
The dominance in the romantic relationship was a bit much for my taste.I liked the little dachshund that Dominic gave Mia. I have a soft spot for cute dachshunds.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I would of had Dominic be less bossy and commanding with Mia. I know that being bossy and overbearing is his nature, but I would of had him be more of an equal partner and less of an overbearing controlling bossy authoritative lover. What three words best describe Meghan Kelly’s performance?
An okay jobCould you see Alpha Wolf's Pet, Hidden being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Yes I can see it as a movie. I have no idea who the stars should be.Any additional comments?
“I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review via AudiobookBlast dot come”Enjoyable listen. Dominic was a bit too controlling of a lover for my taste. I would of like for the big bad alpha wold to become more of a loveable lovestruck puppy dog with his human lover. That's just my preference though.

Would you listen to Alpha Wolf's Pet, Hidden again? Why?
Definitely. I love shifter stories and this story did NOT disappoint. What was one of the most memorable moments of Alpha Wolf's Pet, Hidden?
When Mia asked if she had to wear a collar--laughed when the reply was that it would probably be a diamond necklace...Have you listened to any of Meghan Kelly’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No... This was my first Meghan Kelly listen.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
There were quite a few amusing parts that did make me laugh. There were also some sad parts in the story, but they didn't make me cry...Any additional comments?
I loved this shifter story…am hooked and need to find out what happens next. I will definitely want to continue on with the series. I received the audio version of this book in exchange for an unsolicited and voluntary review of this great story.Oh My! A Big (Not-So) Bad Wolf Story

I liked the story and the characters are interesting. Ms. Gordon gives the reader a unusual take on werewolves and their different roles in the pack hierarchy. Which makes for a interesting twist to the story. The male character - Dominic- is a very alpha, alpha werewolf. By that I mean everyone jumps to do his bidding as if they live only to make him happy. Everyone except of course Mia, the main female character in the book. Mia is strong. brave and willful. The perfect match for Dominic's domineering ways.
If I had to list anything wrong with the book I would say the narrator. I didn't like her way of reading it at all. I will give her credit due in that she was able to give each character a different sounding voice. But the attempt at male voices really was awful and she read it in a way that it got confusing at times as to whether something's were said out loud or were just the characters thoughts.
That being said - The book is worth reading if you like paranormal romance books. I really liked it and I look forward to reading the next one when it comes out Good job Ms. Gordon !
Thank you Ms. Gordon for the free book and the chance to review it for you.

Where does Alpha Wolf's Pet, Hidden rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Alpha Wolf's Pet, Hidden is a hot story, with a dominating Alpha and a sweet but spunky little pet. What other book might you compare Alpha Wolf's Pet, Hidden to and why?
The characters remind me of the characters in Called By the Bear by Violet Vaughn. A very dominating Alpha and a spunky female counterpart. Different Wereanimals, but similar characteristicsWhat about Meghan Kelly’s performance did you like?
Meghan Kelly's voice was very smooth and for a woman did a decent representation of the males' voices.Any additional comments?
There were times the Dominic was a bit over the top Alpha, but most the time Mia stood up for him. The Werewolf culture in this story is much different then other stories I have read.A Dominating Story
