This was another great standalone in this series of paranormal romance books. I'm truly enjoying these books and this story left me with a smile on my face. I enjoyed the characters in this story a lot. Avery and Mikael's story is one full of betrayal, jealousy, revenge and action, but its also has funny, sweet and has steamy moments. I do wish that there was a little more romance between Avery and Mikael because that would have made this a 5 star read for me. I was missing and needed that romance from them, but the ending was sweet. I'm definitely looking forward to King and Aurora's story. The narrator did a fantastic job with this story. I was able to feel every emotion the characters were feeling and I hope that she continues to be a narrator for the books in this series.

Love this series and can listen to it over and over. Characters have depth and returning characters are great.

I have read the book which blew me away, but hearing it brings it to life. The narrator does a great job at handling these shifters. So much chemistry between Mikael and Avery. And the evil badmen are always E.V.I.L. Avery and Mikael' story tugs right at the heart of family. So it makes the fight they are about to endure that much worse. I can not wait to see who gets a story next in this thrilling series! I love dragonlings!!!

Wow!  I loved this narration!  Ms. Ezzo did a fantastic job of both male and female voices.  I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much as I did but she really brought these characters to life.  With her ability to add more depth to the characters I found myself falling in love with this book all over again.  Audio is definitely the way to do a reread!




Gah, I can’t get enough of this series!  Mikael and Avery are proof that every hero and heroine are exceptional.  



Mikael was a bit lost after coming out of hibernation.  He’s still learning what some of the sayings mean but he’s more than happy to be under the care of the human woman, Avery.  Watching him struggle with his understanding of what he was experiencing with her was so much fun as was his complete jealousy when another male even looked her way.  This author knows how to create heroes that check each of my boxes.



Avery was pretty fierce, despite the fact she was a human surrounded by shifters.  She works a man’s job which I think made my heart yearn for her to find happiness with Mikael due to her lack of softer things in her life.  The other women in the series also were a great contributing factor to the story and I loved them all even more for their continued support for one another.



This story thrums with action and drama from the very beginning.  With a mystery at its core, suspense ramping things up towards the end, and the steamy awareness between Mikael and Avery throughout the whole book, this had me turning pages non-stop.



I’m completely captivated by this world!  Every character centered here has already won my heart or is in the process of winning it.  There’s one lion shifter I’m particularly anxious to see take the fall and I can’t wait until we get his story.  Lord, I hope we get his story!

I loved the book, but the narrator pronounced the name wrong for the main male character. Only every now and then she read his name right.
