Acerca de esta escucha

This stimulating discussion with Rupert Sheldrake and Matthew Fox, two visionary pioneers of modern science and theology, will transform how you think about the most popular of all spiritual beings. Study of the Christian mystics led Fox and Sheldrake to the most startling part of their research, which was the discovery that "Aquinas' discussion on angels practically parallels today's discussion upon physics". Fox and Sheldrake explore the new cosmology that the universe is a living, developing organism, and they raise the intriguing possibility that angels play a role in the actual governing of the universe itself. Fox and Sheldrake are co-authors of The Physics of Angels, Exploring the Realm where Science and Spirit Meet (HarperSanFrancisco 1996). Fox is a theologian, the founder of the University of Creation Spirituality and author of seventeen books, including Confessions, the Making of a Postdenominational Priest (HarperSanFrancisco 1996). Sheldrake is a biologist and author of numerous books, including Seven Experiments that Could Change The World (Riverhead Books 1995).

Topics explored in this dialogue include: why angels are so popular today; scientific theories of what angels really are; good, bad and fallen angels; how modern physics parallels and transforms our conception of angels; how the split between science and spirit came about and how the two are being reconnected; the importance of wonder and awe in scientific study; the reawakening of life in the universe; the quest for the animate; the need for darkness as well as light; how 'The Enlightenment' has left us in the dark; and how our ego narrows and colors our discoveries and visions.

Right in the lecture, these men claim to be well read on Angel yet they misinformed about Cherubs. They speak of Cherubs as if they’re representative of a baby. Evidently they didn’t read that Cherubs represent innocence, an energy of innocence.
Then they contradicted themselves at a few points.
I listened all the way through because I appreciate the way that they appreciate consciousness.

I’ve learned more from people who are actually experienced and well read as they claim.

Maybe their books are better but since they contradicted themselves and didn’t understand metaphors then I don’t think I will read their books.

The interviewer was very good.

Hypocritical

These two people are always worth listening to and the discussion is a good one - but there isn't much about angels here. Much more about the soul-death nature of Western science and our "civilization" in general.

Good discussion, but not much about angels really

these two have collaborated on two excellent books which cover views that while seeming intuitive, are also mind expanding.

An excellent communion of science and religion<br />

This is an egg-head radio show with horrible self-conscious yuppie music and an interviewer who says "phenomena" for the singular and can't pronounce "chaos." This is not about angels but just two very bright men talking about everything in the world. Somehow I thought I was getting a Sheldrake article. I like him! But no. And they're snobs, commenting that the new popular interest in angels is emotional! The Bible refers to angels! It was an angel who made my car NOT-go when I stepped on the gas one stormy night, thus avoiding being creamed by a speeding elderly VW with no headlights!

Blah Blah Blah Talking Heads

Quickly got away from the topic of angels and got into leftist New Age spirituality.

Not much on angels
