This book was one of the best! The medical stories were very interesting and the narration was good too. Highly recommend.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I love listening to the stories and it gave me a new perspective on the care, the men and women who have entered this "thankless" but exceedingly rewardable and honorable profession go through. I thought the narrator gave the right amount of voice inflections. The book was thoroughly entertaining and humorous at times. I DO want to state that the book is not for everyone. If you're turned off by Dr. Lesslie's Christian beliefs, this book is NOT for you but if this is NOT an issue, you will come to enjoy it just like I did.

I loved listening to this in the car. The stories painted heartfelt pictures of patient and medical staff interactions. I enjoyed the faith filled moments. I do have to say I was surprised that the narrator was a hired reader. I thought perhaps it was Dr. Lesslie himself. I found the reading a little bit too over enunciated and somewhat stilted. It wasn’t bad, it just really wasn’t natural. For example, every time there was an abbreviation such as “ER” the narrator read the letters so slowly and clearly it was as if he thought they might be misconstrued—like a term from a foreign language. Some of the poignant and moving moments were also read without as much emotional nuance as expected. And so, I would say an enjoyable text, but marred a bit by a less than practiced reader.
