Acerca de esta escucha
Thirty years after the apocalypse didn’t happen, Sparrow is pleased with his life under the rule of an apocalypse bringer. He refuses to even call himself a slave, because that implies he wants to leave. He doesn't age, get sick, or ever have to worry about money and security. That his boss is actually a great guy, is a nice bonus. A short plane ride away, however, Drake lives a very different life under the abusive rule of Solum. He might have the same magical health benefits as Sparrow, but that only prolongs his torture. When Sparrow’s roommate dies, the vacancy allows Drake to escape into the flock and receive his own avian nickname.
Sparrow and Drake form a strong bond almost immediately, but trauma doesn’t disappear just because Drake is safe. Drake cannot speak as a result of being silenced for over thirty years and needs help finding his place in his new home. Sparrow is still mourning the death of his roommate, and through supporting Drake realizes his life might not actually be perfect. Meanwhile, Solum is an immortal, lurking threat, and Sparrow openly tricked and teased him during their brief meeting.
