Nowhere is safe: online or off.

The ZERO virus continues its spread across the globe. For Clay Hopewell and his friends, this spells more danger than ever before.

Digitally reincarnated into the world's most powerful online video game, Clay must now find out what's happening on the outside to save those living in his world. On top of this, he's been pushed into a quest by a young paranoid king, nations are preparing for war, and a malevolent glitch continues its path of destruction.

Even with the help of his sword-slinging girlfriend and thieving best bud, dark forces swirl in the background, hoping to transform the fantasy world they now call home into a digital hell.

Your next quest starts now.

Never hooked me. There narration was done well and the story was interesting a times. I'm also comparing it to all the other books I've listened to this would be the top 200 at least.

Not bad.

rated the last one five stars, really annoying me how the protagonist just doesn't feel like hes trying sometimes, like when he just let an old women push him and shade out of the orphanage, really? there are lives on the line and your just gonna let some old lady MAKE you stop asking questions? im not saying smack her but STOP LETTING PEOPLE PUSH YOU AROUND. and it seems like he and shade are just constantly being captured, paralysed, stunned, and before all that the stupid main character decides to literally ignore advice in a life or death situation while fighting a powerful enemy, then he had the bright idea of closing his eyes instead of, oh i dont know.. LOOKING A FEW INCHES IN ANY OTHER DIRECTION OTHER THAN ITS EYES. and then there was the reasoning shade gave as to why the nuns arent trying to help more, really..? they were always going to leave so why bother? i submitted this review, pressed play only to hear that, then stopped listening to the book. backwards morals and stupid protagonist.

Slight Spoilers

A bit better than the 1st? Especially now that we’ve seen a bit of the back-drop which the 1st book took too long to reveal. There’s more plot-development in this, leaving plenty of room for more.

This book didn't know what it wanted to be. There were some truly horrific things that happened that the mc glossed over and when he did focus on some heavy topics it felt like he was just paying lip service.

In addition, despite supposedly being a gamer he seems to know little about actually gaming. feeling lied to is a pet peeve of mine and makes me want to instantly give a 1 star review, but logic prevailed and I have to admit it isn't that bad, it just isn't that good either.

If you can gloss over such things it could be worth it. I'll likely read the third book as I tend to give series three chances, but the first was hard and I frankly disliked this one so we will see.

I wanted to rate it lower, but didn't

Another great book! Same as my last review the book had a great flow and it was easy to keep track of! Just sad it was so short and I’m still thankful for the deal I got his book from because it’s not worth the credit to spend on this short book. Still it was great book and now onto the next one!

Great!

The narrator has a great voice with fairly good range, but his performance in book #1 was AWFUL because he had zero knowledge about gaming.
I think the reviews of that book made him learn before moving onto the narration of book #2. And thank the Gods for that!!
The story is progressing nicely. The guild members are powering up & expanding in quantity with the abilities needed for the base members.
I just wouldn't expect anything more than pretty much every other LITRPG title. So far, it's not very unique but also not horrible. It's an alright series. If you have time to waste, enjoy this genre & don't mind the same sort of plot told in a different voice with very few twists; give it a listen!
The best part to the series is it is a series!!
OVERALL IT IS GOOD ONCE YOU GET PAST BOOK #1!!

Thank goodness someone taught the narrator gaming terminology!!

The narrator and story are ok, but the discrepancy in power levels is just too unrealistic for me to get over. One day the protagonist is doing essentially a tutorial quest, the next day he's doing a low level fetch quest, and the following day he's taking on the demon final boss and wins. Mind you, the same day of the final boss battle, he finds a level one healer and tells his buddy to take her to kill bugs or whatever in the forest so she can level up and she comes back a few hours later at level 12, something that took the protagonist two full books of training to accomplish. Like, what? Also, the protag and his crew of barely level 10ish characters are constantly going up against major bad guys that are massive levels above themselves, and putting up a good fight - with the exception of only one guard who kicks their ass like he's some god character, but all the other boss characters are constantly struggling against them - against shitty low level 10ish characters. It just doesn't make sense and makes the story frustrating to listen to, because what do levels even mean then if not a representation of power level? It just feels wrong that this guy has been in this world for less than a week, and he along with his baby crew have already essentially toppled a monarch. The MC also suffers from the "I have to make stupid decisions, because I'm morally obligated to, even if those decisions are wildly disadvantageous to myself and everyone." It feels like the MC isn't forced into making any tough life choices - he just picks the morally correct choices, because "I'm the good guy, and that's what good guys do." But killing is ok... No hang ups on killing apparently, but stealing is bad, so bad, absolutely not ok. It doesn't feel like I'm reading a real character. The MC feels fake. Anyway, I'm not gonna continue this series.

The power gaps are too unrealistic
