I loved this book. I thought I had figured it out halfway through but was no where close. Truly well written and verbalized.

I keep forgetting to check narrator before ordering. This one drives me batty! Her exaggerated inflection and breathiness are so distracting! And the story was just meh.

I was on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. The characters were so real and the ending very surprising! i recommend this book and author.

the narrator had a mechanical, robot-like voice. good story but not a fan of narrator

I don't know who said this was a fast-paced thriller because it was not. Well, not until the end. You have to read 2/3 into the book before things start getting exciting. Part of me wanted to stop reading but the other part wanted to know how it end so, I finished it.

This isn’t the first book I’ve listened to narrated by this same woman. Her breathy whispery voice is grating after a while.

This story had a lot of promise but the author seems to focus on hitting on trending moments which turns off many readers. I wish that more authors would remember that people turn to fiction to escape the craziness of the world and not to be immersed in political correctness drama.

Does the bad guy always need to be a cop?
Does a heavy focus on a gay character make a difference?

Most cops are good and really want to help make our country safe. Instead of focusing heavily on the sexuality of a character, add it to the story as a normal part of daily life. That, at least to me, would do more to normalize a the life for gay people that to thrust them into a constant spotlight. My uncle is gay and one of the greatest people I know. He just wants to be treated like everyone else. Just my 2 cents.

Loved it. I pretty much figured it out but there were still great surprises and chaotic unexpected events in the end !

Single mom, Lily, is managing a storage facility because it provides a home for herself and her son. Her ex was a conman who ran away with lots of money so living on the edge of town works for Lily. Not so much for her 12yo son, Everett. He’s the only kid around so he spends his time sneaking into units for fun. Until the contents of one unit spooks him. Everett and his new friend search for clues while Lily tries to keep a detective at bay…he’s looking for her husband. Very complicated story but if you stick with it, the ending will answer all the questions!
