 Lord Tyler Winslet is an up-and-coming leader in Parliament, doing all he can to keep England from going down the disastrous road to yet another war. Lady Sherry Gaines lost her betrothed to war and is determined to honor his memory by helping other soldiers who were wounded or the families of those who died. She has founded the Women's Brigade, whose members have all suffered the loss of a loved one to war. One of her objectives is to establish a hospital for the veterans who have mental and physical disabilities. Although Sherry is an outstanding beauty, she has no interest in being courted. Her heart will always belong to her 'lost' love, Alan. However, she unexpectedly finds herself drawn to Tyler when she notices his kindness to a very talkative older lady at a dinner party.
Tyler is enchanted with the stunning beauty, Lady Sherry Gaines, but he has heard of her dedication to the memory of her deceased betrothed and decides she needs time to come to terms with her loss. He is determined to give her that time, but also decides it would not hurt to get better acquainted with her in the meantime.
