If we know when he comes, then he cannot come as a thief. A recent interpretation from the Messianic and Hebrew Roots movement, teaches that Jesus comes for the rapture on the "last trump" or the Day of Trumpets. This is the only one of the feasts that takes place on the first day of the Hebrew lunar month. It can only be determined by the sighting of the new moon. The problem is that it can take place in any one of three days. For this reason, it is known by Jews as "the feast that no man knows the day or hour of." Jesus was pointing to the Feast of Trumpets when he said that His second coming would come at a time that no man knows the day or hour. In the last chapter, the year when Jesus will return is revealed, and combined with this feast day, we will know exactly when Jesus will return, but we will not know when that day will arrive because it could be any one of three days. 1 Thess 5:4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
