DESCRIPTION OF THE FREEDIVING LEVEL 2 COURSE
The European Institute of Apnea's level 2 apnea course is designed to deepen both your knowledge and your safety in developing your freediving in the sea. Within a framework of safety protocols, this course will provide you with greater confidence and security so that you can be comfortable at -30 meters depth, hold your breath for 3 and a half minutes, and dive 55 meters in a pool.
BOOK CONTENT
The subjects included in the freediving book cover everything necessary for you to understand how physics will affect your physiology at those depths and holding your breath for this long. So that you can do free fall well, you can prepare your body with dry exercises for the depth, you can prepare your mind and concentrate better and nothing distracts you with meditation, more advanced compensation exercises to extract all the air from the lungs and be able to continue compensating even though at that depth there is little air left to compensate.
The lessons included in this book are:
- Introduction
- Differences with Level 1
- Preparing for Level 3
- Physiology Level 2
- 4.1. The cardiovascular system
- 4.2. The nervous system + exercises
- 4.3. The muscular system + exercises
- 4.4. The diaphragm + exercises

PARTS OF THE COURSE IN THE CLASSROOM
The course is developed during 3 days with 26 hours of theoretical-practical training divided into three parts:
- Theory-practice
- Practices in a pool or confined waters
- Practices in the sea
The theoretical-practical part consists of 8 hours of theory-practice in the classroom where you will practice the exercises that come in the lessons of this book that focus mainly on carrying out with an instructor:
- Hypopressive exercises to do chest stretches
- Paranasal wash exercises
- Exercises of other types of stretching of other parts of the body
- Hypoxia exercises
- Control of heart rate and pulsations
- Mouthfil exercises to extract air from the lungs and be able to compensate
- Different types of meditation
PRACTICES OF THE COURSE IN THE POOL
The pool or confined water part is a safe shallow environment that consists of 8 hours where you will put into practice the concepts learned in the theoretical-practical part on breathing, relaxation, hydrodynamics and new hypoxia training tables. You will practice:
- Dynamic apnea hypercapnia training table without fins with and without neckweight
- Dynamic apnea hypercapnia training table with fins with full and half lung
- Static apnea hypoxia training table
PARTS OF THE COURSE IN THE SEA
During the practices at sea you will practice in an open water environment where you will learn to deal with the depth of -30 meters. You will practice:
- Free fall
- Mouthfil
- Deep rescues
- Risk simulations at depth
- Hydrodynamics
- Different modalities that exist at depth
