Sermon Title: Life Through One Man: Jesus Christ
Bible Passage: Romans 5:12–21
Preacher: Robin Vonk
Date: 18th May 2025, 9:30 am
In Romans 5:12–21, Paul reveals the sweeping story of humanity through the lives of two men—Adam and Jesus. Through Adam’s disobedience, sin entered the world, and death spread to all people. But through Jesus’ obedience, grace overflows and life is offered to all who believe. This Sunday, Robin Vonk will unpack how the gospel answers the deepest problem of the human condition with the greatest gift of divine mercy.
Adam’s sin brought condemnation and death, a curse that touches every life. But Jesus Christ, the second Adam, came to reverse what was lost. Where Adam failed, Jesus triumphed. His righteousness leads to justification and life for all who trust in Him. The abundance of grace we receive in Christ doesn’t just cancel sin—it overcomes it, bringing us into a new realm of life and hope.
This passage shows us the incredible reach of the gospel: even though sin reigns in this world, grace reigns even more. Jesus didn’t merely patch up our brokenness—He offers a new beginning, a new identity, and eternal life through His perfect life, sacrificial death, and victorious resurrection.
Join us as we marvel at the power of one man—Jesus Christ—whose obedience brings life, hope, and righteousness to all who believe. Come be reminded that while sin may be great, grace is greater still.
