 Hey there, folks, this is Artificial Lure, and I'm here to give you the lowdown on fishing around Lake Guntersville, Alabama. Today, May 24th, 2025, we're seeing some great conditions for a day out on the water. The sunrise is at about 5:30 AM, and sunset is expected around 7:30 PM, giving us plenty of daylight to chase those bass.

Weather-wise, we've had some cooler temps lately, which has kept the water temperatures from rising too quickly. This has been a bit of a blessing in disguise, as it's kept the fish active and moving. The wind has been relatively calm, which is a welcome change from the gusts we've seen earlier in the spring.

As for fish activity, the post-spawn bass are starting to group up, and we're seeing some fantastic ledge bites. This is the time of year when the fish start transitioning to deeper structures, and Lake Guntersville's renowned ledges are where you want to be. The crappie fishing has also been impressive, with anglers catching solid numbers, especially around submerged structures and weed beds.

If you're looking to catch some bass, a football jig is your best bet right now. It seems like the bass are leaning towards bigger bites, so don't be afraid to throw something with a bit of heft. For crappie, minnows and small jigs are always reliable.

As for hot spots, I'd recommend checking out the areas around the main river ledges. These spots have been producing some quality fish, especially during the late morning and early afternoon. Another spot worth exploring is around the bluegill beds, as these can attract bass looking for an easy meal.

While we don't have a tidal report for Lake Guntersville, the water levels have been rising due to recent rainfall, which is bringing more water into the system. This can sometimes make the fish a bit more unpredictable, but it also flushes baitfish into areas where the bigger fish are waiting.
