 “She must be pregnant that the only reason why she will be getting married at eighteen!” Cora said loudly giggling with her friends. “I’m afraid you are mistaken miss, she's not pregnant!” Lucian said clearly his eyed burning into Cora. Cora stopped giggling in shock then looked at her father. “Dad, how could you do this to me, you know I should always have the best of everything!” Cora shouted before storming out of the room with her friends. “Please excuse me!” My father said before rushing out of the room after Cora as usual. “Happy birthday Arya and congratulations sweetheart, I hope you will be continuing your studies though!” One of the elderly woman said gently. “Lucian this is Professor Pearson, she’s the person who talked me into applying to university!” I said.
“Nice to meet you, and I wouldn’t stand in the way of her studies in fact she would be a asset when she’s a fully qualified doctor!” Lucian replied as he placed his hands over mine. “I’m glad to hear that you will be supporting her choices!” She said before excusing herself and walked away. “You really wouldn’t mind me continuing with my studies? I asked looking at him. “I’m not a total monster you know!” He teased as he led us to our table and everyone took their seats.
After the meal there was dancing and plenty of drinking going on, Lucian was busy talking to our parents and I took this moment to step out into the garden, I needed some fresh air, as I walked I heard a twig snap, I stopped walking there was silence for a moment before I heard voices. “Look you need to do it tonight, I’ll leave the door unlocked, I want my mother and sister gone do you understand me, I want everything and to do that they need to die!” Cora snapped. “Tonight , I thought you just wanted me to hurt Arya now you want your parents hurt too!” The male voice replied. “Do what you want with Arya, but I want her and my mother dead, I can handle my father do you understand me!” Cora snapped. I was about to say something when a hand came firmly over my mouth. “Say nothing, we will listen the we will leave!” The voice whispered in my ear. “I told you I don’t mind hurting them but I’m not killing them for you Cora!” He snapped. “If you don’t do as your told I will ruin your whole like you will wish that you were dead, it’s what my father wants too so you will do this or I will have your head!” Cora snapped before walking away. The hand remained over my mouth as I tried to catch my breath, when he was sure we were in the clear he pulled his hand from my mouth and pulled out his phone.
I couldn't breathe I stumbled towards the bench before changing direction and headed towards the beach, thought running through my head a mile a minute if that was even possible, when I heard the waves crashing onto the sand, I fell to my knees as I continued trying to gulp in air sufficient enough for me to breathe. Lucian arrived ny my side wrapping his arms around me, I closed my eyes leaning against him letting the sparks in to ease my pain and anger to what I heard, with him being my mate hr was able to calm me down by just holding me and rocking me in his arms.
“What’s going on? Lucian asked. “I saw her leave and followed, Lucian her father and sister want both her and her mother dead, she heard the whole conversations I stopped her from saying anything!” The man replied. “Thank you Aiden, do we know when this is being planned for? He asked. “Tonight from what I understand!” Aiden replied before leaving us. “I don't understand why they're doing this will you take us away? I asked. “I will protect you both, with this act your father is betraying us, we will not stand for that, you and your mother will not be harmed however your father, sister along with the man doing the task will not be so lucky!” Lucian replied.
