Acerca de esta escucha

When Ron Freeman suggested I write a historical novel, I instantly thought of family but also hesitated, knowing of merely a few intriguing stories—certainly not enough to base a full book. Nonetheless, using my penchant for creating something suspenseful, I began with a few fictional characters, intending to use them as enemies, crisscrossing through the lives of a few of my kindred dead as they experienced the great European diaspora of the nineteenth century. Starting with the Tattons and Davenports was reasonable since they left England at the appropriate time. However, I knew I needed stories from the other side of the family. Lo and behold, what a treasure I found. I did not know the extent and richness of the Young family's historical records. In Metropolis the reader will find a blend of fiction, particularly focused on the character Godfrey Weeks, and my kin’s remarkable lives and experiences. They travel at the peril of their lives. They are persecuted for their faith. The Utah and Civil War, prejudice, and life on the rugged frontier bear witness to their character and the determination they possessed. I hope the family will read this, become curious, and delve deeper into the lives of their ancestors. My only regret is that this novel barely touches the surface, but the purpose is to plant a seed and bring it to life uniquely.
