Tyler doesn’t trust anyone. Bella feels the same way. When these two decide to show their hearts and desires to each other what Bella brings out in Tyler is something so possessive and beautiful. Bella doesn’t trust his feeling or his motives. This story ends in a cliffhanger that will leave that jaw dropped wide open!

"Bastard Boss" by Lisa Renee Jone, narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Avery Reid, introduces us to the captivating dynamics between Taylor Hawk, an assertive Alpha male, and Bella Bailey, who views him as her demanding boss. Taylor's confident and alluring dirty talk adds spice to the story, while Bella's shyness creates an intriguing contrast. Teddy Hamilton's expert narration brings Taylor's angsty CEO personality to life, and Avery Reid's mature voice gives depth to her character, though occasionally sounding a bit older than the role demands.

However, the audiobook falls short in terms of pacing and depth. Some readers might find the story ends too abruptly, leaving them yearning for more suspense and a more satisfying climax. Despite the intriguing premise, there may be a lack of build-up and tension in the plot. Yet, the audiobook offers a promising handover, hinting at the potential for an engaging continuation of the series.

I’m really loving this!!

I love damaged bad-boys, and that’s what Tyler Hawk is, also be a billionaire to boot!! He’s hot, fierce, alpha and damaged by his horrible father.

Bella is a beauty with brains, business savvy, confident, loyal and caring. She loves her family, especially her brother, and would do anything for him.

Together Tyler and Bella are passionate, but they both have insecurities, career issues and more, that are making them fight their attraction. Especially the mess Tyler’s father left for him in his will. But they are drawn to each other like a moth to a flame, like magnets that cannot stay apart when they’re drawn to each other.

This is how book one ends, making me need to jump into book two…and I will!! This is highly recommended for those who enjoy passion and romance!!

The narration is perfection, of course!!

I often enjoy Ms Jones’ work but only purchase her books on sale. She takes the practice of spreading one story’s worth of material across multiple books to an extreme. The obsession with bathrooms and peeing is also a bit distracting.

The Tyler and Bella trilogy was another example of spreading the story too thin in a cynical effort to increase revenue.

The trilogy clocks in at close to 16 hours but that is tempered by the fact that perhaps 3 hours in the second and third books are repeated segments from the first book.

The story is interesting enough, there is some ridiculously unrealistic internal dialogue and the plot revolves around the challenges and woes of the uber wealthy…it’s hard to care much about their problems.

It’s entertaining enough, if you can get the books on sale or bound together as a single purchase you should consider it.

A trilogy worthy of one credit

…from the broody bazillionaires. Tyler is the picture of one. He’s ridiculously down and depressed and turns Bella broody as well. I’m not sure if I’ll read the second book or not. Lots of angst here, so if that’s what you like you’d be in luck with this book. That being said, it is very well written, the story is pretty good and the narrators (as always!) did a phenomenal job!
