Acerca de esta escucha

He was one of America's most popular entertainers by the time he was 21 years old. But for Eddie Fisher, that was only the beginning of a two-decade affair with fame and fortune that made him more famous than Frank Sinatra, turned out more consecutive hit records than the Beatles, and earned him millions of dollars. He married America's sweetheart, Debbie Reynolds, then left her for the world's most glamorous woman, Elizabeth Taylor. In between it all there were wild parties with Sinatra and the Rat Pack, and meeting's with Sam Giancana and the high-roller's life in Las Vegas.

With honesty and wit, Fisher re-creates one of America's most colorful eras, along with the roller-coaster ride that is his life.

One of the other reviewers was right the Debbie Reynolds did not talk extremely bad of him. Too classy of a woman Elizabeth Taylors another story. I was truly surprise she lived as long as she did she used Eddie to fill in for Mike Todd.. and then she split Eddie’s heart and half. But he did that to Debbie Reynolds too. Maybe a lot of nonsense about all these women that he had bedded. He had a great
Voice undoubtedly. Alcohol and drugs, the demise of a very talented singer.

He mentions bedding every Hollywood beauty from the60’s. Knew he was a speed addict. He names names and presents the good, bad and ugly about himself, but what is true?

Whaaaaat did Eddie have?

Eddie's account of his life and relationships (especially with Elizabeth) is very interesting. I enjoyed it immensely.

It’s an interesting listen, but Eddie comes across as a phony when he speaks of love, which he clearly didn’t know much about. From his open abandonment of his kids, to his trash talking of Debbie (when she, at least, had the courtesy to speak sparingly, if at all, about him in her memoirs), Eddie’s actions speak for themselves. What a douche. RIP Eddie

One the best books I have listened to and I have listened to a lot. Eddie tells you e v e r y t h i n g about his life, including what is embarrassing to one's ego.
Also, Eddie is a loving person so he has so much love: Love of life; love for his mother; love for his children; love for his wife Betty-Lyn.
I heard him telling me about his life-story so many times I am completing his sentences. I also quote him as I feel his life experience is a source of wisdom.

I write about him in a present tense as if he is still in this world. He is the reader for his own book and tells you his life story with contemporary American jargon that you feel he is right there. It affirms the knowledge that his Neshama is very much alive.

The comments from this reviewer hits the nail on the head. I add: TOO MUCH OF A GOOD THING. TOO MANY CHICES, NO ABILITY TO THINK CRITICALLY, TOO LITTLE EDUCATION IS POISON. I AGREE HE HAD THE GREATEST VOICE OF ALL EXCEPT NAT KING COLE AND JOHNY MATHIS. They were not better.
I thought of TRISTAN AND ISOLDE many times regarding ELIZABETH TAYLOR. I kept thinking, “ Are you so stupid that you cannot understand how Mike Todd treated her? Are you so blind?” It’s impossible to hate that voice however.

“I STILL LOVE YOU EDDIE” GETS IT

What a selfish man.
I felt like this book was more of an account of the life of Elizabeth Taylor. I wonder if she wrote as much about him .

Not really impressed
