Acerca de esta escucha

In this highly anticipated follow-up to his blockbuster New York Times bestseller The Amateur, former New York Times Magazine editor-in-chief Edward Klein delves into the rocky relationship between the Obamas and the Clintons. An old-school reporter with incredible insider contacts, Klein reveals just how deep the rivalry between the Obamas and the Clintons runs, with details on closed-door meetings buttressed by hundreds of interviews. Blood Feud is a stunning exposé of the animosity, jealousy, and competition between America's two most powerful political couples.

I learned a lot more about the Obama's than I was expecting. I knew they had used Oprah, but had no idea how much they had taken advantage of Clinton. I had gradually learned on my own observations that Obama was not nearly as intelligent or capable of running a country as Clinton. I am very sorry he got 8 years to really mess up our country. I wish his time was over now, instead of having 2 more years yet. We all have to learn that there are no politicians that can be totally trusted. They are never interested in the country before anything else. Unfortunately, their egos will always make them come first.

Interesting book

Politics, never was for the people. Always was for the sake of nurturing the power hungry. Shame on it all.

Interesting. Supports why I no longer vote.

Have you ever gone to a sporting event, and wished both teams could lose? That's how I feel about the Clintons and the Obamas. Both families are cut from the same cloth. As much as I rooted for everything in this book to be true, I often doubt conversations that are quoted basically word for word. Who remembers conversations verbatim? Nonetheless, I applaud the author for having the guts to disclose the "secrets" of these couples and those who associate with them. I thought the book was worth the listen if for no other reason than to become more aware of the relationships among the individuals, which helps explain and understand their actions.

If true, this explains some things

I "read" this in just two days...couldn't put it out of my mind. Very fascinating read. Highly recommend this book!

kind of sort of struggle to finish. stick to extreme with the back and forth. I wish the book didn't lean one way but unfortunately it did.

Just OK

The Clintons and Obamas evidently dislike each other, but a Blood Feud? Nah.

Insider information and temperaments were interesting, though honestly not surprising. If you follow politics, you already well know the games these players play. So, you will 'guess' how players may privately commmunicate, less their choices of expletives.

Narration was exceptional. This would make a great summertime poolside, or an entertaining shared road trip listen.

What did you like best about this story?

It exposed the inner workings, behind the scenes and the rotten underbelly of today's politics.

What about Lars Mikaelson’s performance did you like?

The performance was even handed and engaging....a very good narator.

Any additional comments?

If you enjoy politics this book will engage you at every level.

What did you like best about this story?

If his sources are truthful and he has honestly told us the story without a strong bias, it is a fascinating book. The emphasis is on IF. I am conservative in my leanings and am easily persuaded that this author has represented these individuals accurately, and if he has, our nation is in real trouble. And if this is all true, it certainly gives a clearer understanding of recent events in our nation's history, such as the Benghazi debacle. However, it is difficult to believe the arrogance and self-serving character of our elected officials. I am praying that this is all an exaggeration regarding the woman we, most likely, will elect as our next president.

If it is true

Obama's vs Clinton's, I am not sure which would like/hate this book more. Hillary is portrayed as a pawn of Bill, and Barack is shown as one who is managed by no names. eh...interesting read non-the-less.

infighting at the top of politics.

Would you listen to Blood Feud again? Why?

Klein did a masterful job in critique the Clinton vs. Obama Feud... the Michelle vs. Oprah feud... and all that is the deconstruction of the illusion that is Obama. By part II I felt a degree of sympathy for Mr. Obama as he has to deal with the women in his life who think he is not up to the task and deal with him as such. While I have never been swayed by the allure of similar complexion as a right to lead, I found a character more affalble puppet than mastermind. The ultimate take away from Klein's critique for me is the absolute illusion that any of us matter or the country for that matter to the people in the highest leadership positions in the land. PS - Bill really can't stand him and the feelin is mutal... especially as it relates to Val and Mish... who have been his brain and his backbone according to this book since his first days in Chicago.
