Acerca de esta escucha

In Washington Township, Michigan, on Valentine's Day, 2007, Stephen Grant filed a missing persons report on his beloved wife, Tara. The stay-at-home father of two was beside himself with despair. Why would Tara abandon him and their family? Was she involved with another man?

Stephen's frantic, emotional search for Tara made national headlines, and the case was featured on Dateline among other television shows and news outlets. But key elements in Stephen's story still weren't adding up: Why did he wait five days to go to police? What was the nature of his relationship with his children's beautiful, 19-year-old babysitter? Why did Stephen have cuts on his hands, and random bruises? Then, the police made a gruesome discovery.

Parts of Tara Grant's body started turning up around the woods near their home. The truth was finally coming to light...and, after a two-day manhunt, Stephen admitted to having killed Tara―first strangling her, then cutting her body into 14 pieces before burying them. This is the shocking true story about a bitter, cheating husband whose crimes were revealed by the Blood in the Snow.

Stephen is the world’s dumbest criminal but the clincher is when the narrator reads in the German accent 🤣🤣🤣

Great reading

Not the typical true-crime type of book which I have read. This is due mostly to absolutely zero mystery as to who did the killing.

Instead, author Tom Henderson details exactly how sick and conceited murderer Stephen Grant was and is. Not only is he full of himself, delusional at how much of a Romeo he was, but he just isn’t very smart, either.

Later in the book this selfishness is apparent in his sister as they callously trade barbs about the deceased. That was the most disturbing part.

The trial portion left little surprises, but that was to be expected.

There were so many worlds turned upside down because of this sicko’s actions- those are the ones I feel sorry for.

Narrator Paul Michael Garcia did a pretty excellent job with what he was given. The voices were distinct and he made the story flow easily. I do feel that if I were reading a physical book rather than listening, I would have gotten very bored of this one. However, Garcia kept me intrigued for the most part.

Not the best true crime story, but certainly not the worst that is in my library. (That would be “If You Tell”).

I found the audio to be interesting but with way to much filler, I wanted to know about the main characters and their background not about all the policemen background, I kept thinking what does this have to do with the killing. At times I found my mind wondering and then came back and we were still on about others background. I would walk out of the room to get something and come back it seemed like I was at the same place as when I left the room. Don't get me wrong it is a good story and very interesting without all the filler. I am torn between whether or not he planned it or not. If she is gone he has very little money coming in but people have done more for less. I would have liked to know more about you and the kids. I felt so bad for them and their families.

I thought the narrator did a wonderful job, giving wonderful emotion, really pulling me into the story. He did do a few character voices which were very good. It was easy to feel the emotion each were feeling. His character Stephen was so cold with little or no feeling, I had to wonder if that was how he really was but I guess he must have been to have done what he did with the body. There were no repeating of words, no volume change and no background noise. It was a clear audio and I really did enjoy his narration, thought he had a pleasant voice and picked up a few more of his audio's. He paused when he was suppose to so the mind could bring it in and work through it before going on to the next thing, that was really nice, I loved how he could make you feel emotion of the characters. I would be interested in listening to an audio where he does all the characters voice to see how he carries them out.

To much filler

Couldn’t stop listening, though much of it was disturbingly haunting. Superb reading of the book.

Horrifying tale

This book is very slow. There are a lot of details I didn’t think were necessary. It just kind of drug on and on. It was an interesting story but very little suspense.

Great narrator and a transfixing story. Bravo! I’m thinking of listening to it again. I loved it.

Awesome

The book flip flops characters with no storyline to link them and the performers female voice is cringeworthy! Would not recommend. Not even to my husbands ex wife.

Slow, painful to endure

Found the story very interesting and loved that the victim was the focus - not the murderer

Engaging from the first sentence

I couldn't believe this story was true until I looked online and found out it truly was. I couldn't put this book down at all.

Mortifying!

I really got a sense of who Stephen was as a person by the way it was written and performed. I really felt that I knew how he thought, it was amazing. The performance was great, the book was superbly written, and it is one crazy story.
