Acerca de esta escucha
She lost her memories. He vowed to protect her. But the truth might tear them apart.
Aurora Bennett was born to dance—until a brutal attack shatters her career and erases her memory. With her life in danger and no one she can trust, she’s forced into hiding with the one man who’s never once let down his guard: Oliver West, the gruff ex-military bodyguard assigned to keep her alive.
Oliver doesn’t do feelings—and he definitely doesn’t do ballerinas. But Aurora isn’t the pampered starlet he expected. She’s determined, vulnerable, and far braver than she knows. As the threats mount and pieces of her past begin to surface, protecting her becomes more than a job—it becomes personal.
But the closer they get to the truth, the more dangerous it becomes. And when secrets come to light, they’ll have to choose: walk away to protect their hearts… or fight to hold on to the fragile hope growing between them.
A heart-pounding Christian romantic suspense about redemption, protection, and the kind of love only grace can build.
The story was average and hard to follow. It had closed door scenes that were skipped for obvious reasons in order to keep it clean; however, it was so abrupt between scenes that it had no flow and made me have to guess what path the relationship took.
The backstory of the characters were practically nil. You learn a little about Aurora because of her parents being characters, but it's superficial and there is no investment in her or Oliver's well-being. So much of Oliver's thoughts were in his head and weren't voiced, so there was no real friction in the story to root for him to get the girl. It was a difficult story to finish, but I toughed it out just in case it was a lull in the writing. It was written more like an instruction manual of how a mafia-type lackey could fall for the bosses daughter, try to repress his feelings and eventually succeed in getting her in bed after her repeated attempts to seduce him.
I may give the author another chance on a different story via Kindle Unlimited instead of AI voice.
