Carly soon learns that the victim had an estranged stepson and stepdaughter, both of whom needed her money to get their lives back on track. Worse still, in her younger days, the dead woman had a reputation for preying on other women’s husbands, leaving broken marriages in her wake—and a list of suspects a mile long. But Ross’s fingerprints were found on the murder weapon, leaving Carly hungry for any clue she can find. Until she comes face-to-face with the killer and realizes this time, she may have bitten off more than she can chew....

Linda Reilly has written another great addition to her Grilled Cheese Mystery series. All the usual characters are present as well as an intriguing mystery.
Mia Gaskin as always gave a stellar performance as she brought the storyline to life and gave each character their own distinct voice.
I highly recommend this book and series to fans of cozy mysteries and am looking forward to the next in this wonderful series.

Great continuity of characters and performance. Only critique is the this is the second book where the reader pronounces cavalry (a troop coming to the rescue) as Calvary (hill where Jesus was crucified).

Another delightful cozy Mystery

I like the creative grilled cheese recipes and the characters in the series. I look forward to the next murder in town.

I definitely recommend this series…. The Audible algorithm suggested this series to me. I purchased additional credits so I could binge listen. That was probably a bad idea on my part. SMILE.

I loved the first book and enjoyed the second and third.

But I’m LAUGHING! In this 4th book I find myself very irritated with the heroine for failing to show respect to her employees, boyfriend and the town sheriff.

Her goals are noble, but she doesn’t seem to mind inconveniencing everyone else in her life to solve this crime.
And she continually ignores the very realistic request of the Sheriff to stay out of his investigation, giving the impression that he is not in charge.


In short, in this 4th work, our heroine seems to feel entitled to do what she likes. That’s a situation I really don’t like in fiction or the real world.

But I love this writer and the storylines.

Love this Author and Series BUT …..

I'm in love with every character in this new book. The characters are vibrant and down to earth. This book is a great novel to read or listen to on a rainy day while eating a grilled cheese.

Gooey good!

I found the earlier books to be somewhat forced in terms of the situations especially with respect to the excuses for the main character becoming involved and the resolutions. In this book these problems have been addressed. Dialogue is more fluid.
