Acerca de esta escucha

My name is Tate. He doesn't call me that, though. He'll barely refer to me at all, and he'll hardly ever speak to me. But he still won't leave me alone. We were best friends once. Then he turned on me and made it his mission to ruin my life. I've been humiliated, shut out, and gossiped about all through high school. His pranks and rumors got worse as time wore on. I even went to Europe for a year, just to avoid him. But I'm done hiding from him now, and there's no way I'll allow him to ruin another year. He might not have changed, but I have. It's time to fight back.

What other book might you compare Bully to and why?

It reminds me a bit of Samantha Young novels.

Did Abby Craden do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

She did OK. Her inflection during narration was a bit off-putting.

Great book , poor naration

I don't approve of unmarried or under age sex. However, before it happened, I was fully entrenched in the storyline. So, a fair warning.

Now, Tate is very mature & some may scoff at that as she's only 17 through the majority of the book. I personally can attest that there are many young people who grow up & mature quickly. A hard life did that to me, so it's quite believable. I truly enjoyed knowing her inner thoughts and struggle to continue growing and to tackle those who not only bullied her but, also, with her own struggle yo not become a bully herself.

From the beginning, I knew that something traumatic had deeply scarred Jared when he was 14yrs old. Bullies 99% of the time have been abused. His acts of bullying may seem outrageous but truly his little pawn Maddox actually made me more upset. He had NO reason or excuse for what he did. He even admitted that he was the one who over did it without Jared even knowing. Being able to move on & forgive is a huge thing that many adults I know have never overcome. That itself really rang true with Tate's personality. I hope others can gain insight & grow themselves as they read her story.

Excellent story of true life happenings. Beautifully written and the narrator was perfect. :-)

My star ratings include these 5 elements:
1★ story line
1★ engaging characters
1★ use of world building/descriptive
1★ being well edited or narrated
1★ the ending

Sweet

This narrator. I just. Sigh. She should stop attempting masculine voices. Just stop it. And, stop empathizing the last word of every sentence with a little looptie loop dip. Why are you so breathless? All. The. Time. Why?? I will be trying my best to avoid all her books going forward.

I enjoyed the story, mostly. I think it could have done with a little more progression to change. That part seemed off. I'm looking forward to reading his POV to, hopefully, fill in some gaps.

Narrator needs some acting classes

as a bully book goes, i guess it was ok, too much inner dialogue it got boring and predictable, the storyline was ok I'm underwhelmed

I have read the book but hearing it was so much more even though I would have a different voice for Jarred.

This was extremely slow burn to me but I didn't hate it. Was it the most captivating story I've ever read no. However, the story itself was very sweet once you look deeper. Towards the end of the book I felt more for Jared than I thought I would even if I didn't agree with how he initially handled things. Who he becomes is worth it though. It was a nice break from some of the darker stuff I normally read. The performance was ok. It wasn't the worst I've listened to but I do feel like it could have been a little better.

It was pretty good.

I enjoyed this story, and liked the depth of emotion between Tate and Jared. The story does go a little too slow at times, and I would've liked more time with Tate and Jared; especially without other people around. Jared and Tate were best friends since they were kids, but all the sudden Jared started being mean to Tate a few years ago. The bullying that Jared does is very obviously attempts to interact with Tate because he likes her. He's doing that stupid boy thing and denying it to himself. I found the bullying to be more of a prank thing; most of it is pretty tame. Except for Jared's friend Madoc's sexual assaults against Tate. Madoc gets off too easy. I don't care if he does it mostly in jest. I don't like the whole what Jared says goes for pretty much the whole high school. Tate is an easy target and has thin skin, but after a year away, she decides she's going to stick up for herself. She actually becomes a bit of a bully too, so I felt a bit disappointed in her. This story all takes place with the characters in high school, so there is definitely immaturity. Tate does stupid things, and so does everyone else. The whole KC (Tate's friend) and Jared thing didn't need to be in this book. It didn't add anything, and made Jared's feelings for Tate seem lacking. The way Jared acts; his manwhore ways mainly, taints the feelings he has for Tate. If you supposedly love someone, banging random girls doesn't exactly show you have deep enough feelings. Jared's treatment of Tate is also very unwarranted, and I don't really get why all the sudden he changed his tune. I do love Jared and Tate together though. Without all that pomp and circumstance, the true feelings come out. I think this story definitely needed an epilogue, the ending felt a little lackluster. Also, I thought there would be more about why those guys were trying to fight Jared. That could've added some intrigue, but it just went nowhere. Overall, the story is entertaining and I didn't want to stop reading. Somethings are just annoying, but not enough that I didn't enjoy the story. I love the enemies to lovers premise. I listened on audio, and the narrator did a good job. I'd recommend it.

Love the passion! Entertaining!
