The performance was so unappealing I almost didn't finish the book. The only thing that kept me going was the interesting story. I wish I had read the book instead.

terrible reading, good story

I felt as though I was listening to a fifth grader who was adept at word attack skills but had absolutely no comprehension of what he was reading. After listening for two hours, I could take no more. I hate that I bought two books in this series. I would surely have purchased neither if the previous reviewers comments had been posted. I'll NEVER buy another book that has not been reviewed.

This is a shame because the premise of the story was interesting and William Manchee is probably a good writer. I might look for the book at the library & read it the old fashioned way.

Listeners beware!

This is the worst reading of an audiobook I've ever encountered. William Timnick sounds like he's so concerned about pronouncing each word correctly that he completely forgets to include any inflection. The result is a completely robotic reading. And his voices for the characters are so poorly done that I had trouble keeping track of who was supposed to be speaking. It actually sounds like it could be an interesting story, but the reading is so terrible that it's hard to tell, and impossible to enjoy.

Terrible reading

I’ve listened to hundreds of audio books and William Timnick is right up there with the best of them. He has many different voices that make it easy to distinguish one character from another and is quite pleasing to listen to. I don’t understand those who criticized him so harshly, particularly when they could have listened to an excerpt before they made the purchase.

A Fine Reader

If you can get past the reader, it might have been a good story. It sounds like someone tried to have a computer read the book. Each word is so precisely enunciated, not like a person telling you a story. Consequently the flow of the story is all chopped up. I also didn't like the use of "Oh God" and "Oh Jesus" every other sentence. It was disrespectful and totally unnecessary. I stopped listening after the first half hour. Don't waste your credits on this one.

BORING!
