Acerca de esta escucha

Where do you go when you've saved the world but given up everything and everyone you love in the process?

The home of the blues, of course! Quincy Harker has retreated to Memphis to lick his wounds and get started on building a new life for himself. He's determined to be a normal guy (almost) living a (mostly) normal life working as a bouncer in a (not even a little bit) normal bar. But it all goes sideways when someone asks for his help with a little demon problem.

Harker knows there's no such thing as a little demon problem. He's right, of course, because his demon problem includes hellhounds, dragons, djinn, angels, artifacts, secret government agencies, and a high school prom. This could absolutely be Quincy Harker's most dangerous outing yet, and that's before we even mention the explosions!

it's always good to be able to see a character go off on their own and see what they do without all their backup. You get to see any other side of Quincy.

great story

I really love the performance given by the narrator of this series! The character have me hooked

Side note: Audible’s organization for this series, and the author’s thing for calling 4 hour novellas “books” makes it hard to tell the proper series order … or to avoid buying duplicates. My tip is to avoid the four hour “books”/novellas numbered 1-16, and avoid the “year one, two and three” books that feature novella/books “1-4, 5-8, and 9-12.”

The series order that gets you all books without duplicates is:
☠️ Quincy Harker- Demon Hunter Omnibus (containing books Years One, Two, and Three… which contain book/novellas 1-4, 5-8, and 9-12) 40 hrs for 1 credit!
☠️ Salvation (contains Year Four … which contains book/novellas 13-16, also known as the Glory arc)
☠️ Carl Perkin’s Cadillac (this book), which is the second book that’s labeled “book 5” instead of calling it Year Five or book 17 or any other more clear label.
☠️Inflection Point, labeled book 6 and “book” 18🙄 (starts a 3 book arc)
☠️Conspiracy Theory
☠️ Comes a Reckoning
☠️ From here, look for the books that are at least eight hours to distinguish them from the novella/books.

Annoying? Yes! Worth it to sort thru? Hell yes!

Now, for the actual book review:
Quincy MFing Harker is back in fine form after the too deep and cerebral last story arc about archangels, the battle for good and evil, and endless talk and ruminations. This book takes the series back to the self-contained single story concept and has that pulpy, B movie, mouthy, supernatural, noir feel that originally hooked me on the series. Well, except the 20 minute mini-story about Elvis… but that was creative enough (and short enough) that I forgave the detour.

This book picks up a few months after the last, as magical heavy and occasional dumbass Harker fails miserably in his attempt to lay low as a bouncer in a Tennessee dive bar. He soon finds himself ass-deep in potential armageddon- again. Other than his guardian angel Goldy, there are only a few cameos from the previous books. But, this allows Harker’s “doesn’t play well with others” personality to shine in bloody and fun fashion. I enjoyed every MFing minute.

QH classic: dumb luck and lots of profanity

The truth bout elvis, a story of revenge and regret and getting ready for something even bigger. Detective Flynn has been blocked and Harkers now working ad a bouncer at a sanctuary. buy you can only be that famous before some one recongnises you.
besides dragons arent real.

another great one in the series

I really enjoy this series. Reader does a great job. While this story can be enjoyed alone, it's best to listen to earlier books in this series. I do wish the author had said where the dragon came from and how it was bound . Especially when it's said in previous books that dragons don't exist.

good series

I love this series and this one his out back out the ball-park. Quincy, and his mouth, just can't stay out of trouble and words uttered many years ago come back to haunt him.
When's the next one due... Sadly, I have to wait... Grumble... this books wraps up completely but.... Let's just say that Q won't get much of a rest.

A Harper Novel for the win.

Always nice to have a visit from an old friend. While this genre is not my typical cup of tea, I love this series!!! This book is the same recipe with new ingredients but don’t get me wrong, love it and am looking forward to more. Sort of like a good bourbon, you know what you are in store for but still enjoy it. Special thanks to the narrator for his always awesome performance. He gives Quincy a gritty soul that I am sure no one else could achieve. Can’t spend anymore time on this as I am diving right in to the next book.

This book was just as good as all the others with the same narrator we all know and love.
